I don't know if I'm the only one who thinks that GW's product quality has hit the poop. I mean like, the last 4 products I have bought have either been missing pieces, didn't fit properly(stupid devastator marine with plasma cannon), or had defective pieces. I don't want to sound like a nit picker but, we the consumer pay an exorbant ammount of money on products made and assembled in the US and yet we get bottom line products. I love GW products but when the quality gets this bad it discourages me from buying more becuase I don't want to go through the hassel of trying to make do with I got or waiting 2 or 3 weeks to get the pieces that I bought in the first place. Please someone tell me I'm not alone.

go to Ex Libris Mortis for blood angels tactica.
Your not alone about the Plasma Cannon, thats for sure. Its the sole reason I don't use Plasma Cannon troops...because the bit wont fit.
But mind you GW are good about replacing stuff. So waiting a few days or a week isn't that much of a problem in my opinion...unless you need that bit for a Tourney or GD.
That, and I fail to see the hassle in waiting for some bits. Bordom and mild annoyance maybe, but I wouldn't call getting a free replacment hassle as such.

The newer issue Sister of Battle w/ Heavy Bolter takes a lot of filing to make it fir securely.

Arghh! Plasma Cannon.:realmad: Mine fell apart just the other day!
The new plastic Marines, IMO, have been made more expensive (money wise) but made alot cheaper (quality wise) Have you seen any of the old, metal models? The detail is amazing!
I buy metal models whenever possible, and never mail order. For obvious reasons.
But what pisses me off is how my meltagun trooper dropped his gun halfway through a tournament, and the GW guy overseeing the place said he no longer fell under WYSISWYG rules and now counted as having a knife. I effectively lost anti-tank in that tactical squad.
How lame. :glare: I always carry glue with me.Originally Posted by ze_poodle
Wow, that guy was really mean! You could just have put the melta gun on/beside the guy's base or something. And yeah, always carry super glue with you.Originally Posted by ze_poodle
Well it took me 4 hours, a power sander, and supergluing my fingers 3 times to get the metal plasma cannon on the marine. I had to however use a modified plastic arm because the metal one was too long and didn't fit properly. I get my products from a store in my town like 3 blocks from my house and I love the store and I don't think thaty they have anything to do with the quality of GW products. And I don't mind waiting for spare pieces or even a new set, in the case of my Death Company, but its just the fact that almost everytime I buy something I have to wait to get something that should have been there in the first place. I have a few friendly games on saturday and now I have to play them without a Death Company and with a plasma cannon that looks like its dislocated the shoulder of the marine. It kinda takes the fun out of painting and assembling when you have to go though all the hassel (and pain...stupid crazy glue) just to fit a gun on a guys arm. Oh well, at least it wasn't missing pieces.

GW has always had a crappy QA rate. Probably 30% of the things I've bought for 40k have been screwed up in one way or another. Recently I ordered almost $2k worth of marines (I'm rebuilding my entire force), and this is a list of what was screwed up in it:
5 tactical squad boxes (end run on the molds, basically just shapeless lumps of plastic connected to the sprues) out of 7 ordered
3 assault marine boxes (same as above; end run on the molds and they were shapeless lumps of plastic connected to sprues) out of 5 ordered
6 land speeder tornados (this model is the worst sculpted model currently produced by GW, the top of the body *never* fits on the bottom once everything is assembled, without copious amounts of green stuff) out of 6 ordered
3 land speeder typhoons (same as the tornados, with 1 of the boxes missing the typhoon missile launchers, instead being packed with 2 heavy flamers) out of 3 ordered
2 Baal predator boxes (one missing sponson sprues, the other missing the metal bits, e.g. heavy flamers and assault cannons) out of 3 ordered
6 veteran assault sergeants (I ordered the models with power fists, they came with the "grenade tosser" pose instead) out of 11 ordered. No power weapons came at all.
Blood Angels honor guard box (missing standard bearer, sanguinary priest required 4 hours of filing... I may as well have re-cast the entire model myself)
Commander box set (only came with inquisitor shoulder pads usable, the rest were formless plastic lumps)
2 sniper scouts (refuse to fit in the base slot, and more flash on the model than detail-work on the mini) out of 5 blister packs
3 razorbacks (missing razorback weapon sprues) out of 5... I use razorbacks as rhinos, since it's an easy conversion and they come with the rhino top hatch bit. A little plasticard and some magnets and you can use either razorbacks or rhinos
Vindicator (vindicator side armor plating required 3 hours to file down to fit in place and still didn't cover the side holes from the old 3ed rhino chassis)
Furioso dreadnought (after filing, required copious amounts of green stuff to fill in the cracks in the model along the seams)
That's not the entire order, that's just the stuff from the order that was screwed up. I think problems like this is exactly why GW has a "no questions asked" replacement policy.
