What models best represent true grit with a bolter and CCW? I was thinking blood claws, but I was wondering of there were any better ideas.
Thanks for the quick response, I assume that a knife or beyonet comes with the SM sprue (or will I have to convert)? I was also curious as to suggestions for true grit models that could be used as assault marines (with the jump packs of course).
I converted mine using Tactical marines, and the knives chainsword and bolt pistols (just remember not to try and shoot with it) in the Tactical box. I waas left with 3 models which I couldn't get an extra ccw on, so i medeled them as if they were throwing a frag grenade.

The 'Grey Hunter' box set, from the Space Wolves range, comes with 10 Bolters, and 10 Chainswords, Knives, a Powerfist, Power Weapon and various other weapons that could be used as CCW. If you're worried about them having Wolf Pelts on them and things, they do not. A Space Wolf accessory sprue is included, but you do not have to use it.
Hope this helps.
P.S: Blood Claws come with CCW's and Bolt Pistols, so you wouldn't want that.
The Grey Hunters box actually comes with the chainswords sprues???? Ive been working on modeling some of my new grey hunters to carry both a bolter and a chainsword/pw/pf, so I know it can be a bit difficult. What I was doing was bits ordering the assault marine arm sprues, cutting the bolt pistol off the hand of the BP arm, and replacing it with a full sized bolter. That seemed to me to be the easiest way to model the True grit models, as I couldnt locate just chainsword arms. The bolters arnt an issue since all tactical marine boxes come with them. If you're just trying to find the CCW components, i would strongly recommend taking a look at GW's bitz ordering catalogs.
I'm not convinced the Grey Hunter box comes with Chainswords. However, the Blood Claws box certainly does, so you could simply order a bunch of Blood Claws Chainsword sprues.Originally Posted by Lord_Wallace
The Grey Hunters box does come with plenty of combat knives however, so for ease, you could simply hang the knife fom the model's belt to represent the fact that it carries a close combat weapon.
Terminator Based Custom Chapter
I just finished converting a 10 man tactical squad w/ TYBB.
The tactical squad somes w/ a few chainswords and pleny of knives, but i wanted every marine to be different and somewhat dynamic. so i bitz ordered some blood claw arms (not too expensive).

I like the idea of using a combination of chainswords and combat knives. Hang em on the belt/backpack and if not using the trait just call it fluff pieces. As anybody knows reading my posts I'm all about getting max flexability out of my models.
breath, sight, squeeze.
now double tap just for grins

A bolter round for all that oppose the Emperor.
