Hey guys. Is been along time since I have played warhammer (Stopped alittle after 4th ed came out). After reading the threads again I was thinking of starting my drop trooper army again. I wanted to know if anyone had an links to how to do gasmasks out of greenstuff. Any info will be helpful. Thank you.
You know you can use steel legion models if you want. They come with gas masks. But I don't know of any places that show you how to do it with green stuff. What models were you planning/ are using? .

By night he fought with pen and parchment.....

Here's a guide for gasmasks or, rather its a guide to creading drop troopers, but there's a gasmask section.
Personally though, I'd just play around with some greenstuff, basically make a little rounded off pyramid, a string of greenstuff for a tube (maybe press some ribs into it) connecting the mask to a backpack or, like the steel legion models, a small flask thingie.
For masks like the ones in the pic, forget the tube thing, just get a rod of cylindric plastic-card and cut small slices to make the vents on the sides, as you'd do with rivets for vehicles.
You could also use the vox caster head. It looks kinda like a hightech gasmask. You'll need alot of vox caster heads though, so it'll probably be cheaper with the greenstuff idea.
Sketch out a few patterns for your gasmasks, practice on a few grunts, then build a sculpting
tool and you'll get pretty good results.
