Right assuming I use these rules (skip to bottom of the page)
It would be impossible for me to take a grey knight dreadnaught yes??
And, is there an alternate i could suggest to my friends so i could use a dread, ie ignore the special rule about having greyknight vehicle only with a greyknight hero or reduce a brothercaptains armour save to 3+? what would be most phesable?
And how would you lot get around somat like this, coz my dread is my only real heavyweapons squad. Without it i would find it difficult to take down more than one veichle in an army.
Except that would be just twisting the rules just to help you.
I wouldn't worry, your opponent can't take any vehicle greater than AV33 anyway, so it probably won't be terribly dangerous to you. And you'll be able to smash it in with NFW anyway.
And you don't need to use the website for 40k in 40min rules, they're in your rulebook.
Equip Justicar/s with meltabomb/s?
They ain't in my rule book coz i have the dodgy macragge one (me and my mates split the cost and each got different bits)
No i don't want to 'unfairly' bend the rules my way. I just wanted a way to get around this and what the fairest way would be.
Me and my mates are thinking about starting a tournament and only really have about 500-750 points each.
without my brother captain and without my dread I don't even have 500 points (5 stormtroopers and 5 greyknights...)
I'm not sure if the rules will cause a problem for anyone else, or if we are using those rules =-S
I know one friend will have a lemanruss, another a dread and a rhino.
........then your friend is certainly cheating with his vehicles if your playing 40k in 40mins. I'd wait till you paint up another 5 Grey Knights, as you simply don't have the models to play a battle properly. When you do, you'll see the power of Grey Knights. Simply put, if you both adhere to the rules, any vehicles you face will have AV10 or 11, you normal men can easily destroy it if they get close enough.
I havnt played against my friend with the leman russ yet, he hasnt built all his men or painted hardly any of them :p ( he got the battleforce)
The rules don't restrict AR amount (look at the link) only points spent on a vecihle, im pretty sure (but not deffinate) that a lemanruss is less than 200 points?
Or have i missed somat?
Ah, you see those rules are obsolete.
The actual rules nowadays are in the big rulebook. I found another source for you with the proper rules, print them for your friend:
The rule thats killing the Leman Russ is:
"No vehicle with a total armour value greater than 33 (side values counted as one)"
So the Russ would count as 36 14+12+10
So your friend could take his Rhino........but thats about it.
So you see why you really have nothing to worry about, your normal men can beat Rhino Armour.
TBH i think we might make our own rules like these up, as logn as its suitable for the campaign no 1 will mind (and it isnt biased)
Lmao, ok more problems with those rules because i can't get any HQ with them =-P
EDIT: oh i see, read on lol.

If I were you, I would have 20 Grey Knights!
