Welcome to Librarium Online!
I was thinking, for special operations, why cant line squads get a special missle launcher, thats not as bulky as an actual missle launcher. for stats I was thinking this-
the R.P.G. is a one shot missle launcher that is smaller than the standard missle launcher.
1.requires one guardsmen.
2.frag R.P.G. costs- 10 points
3.krak R.P.G. costs- 15 points
4.R.P.G.'s act as missles
5.after fired, model with R.P.G. must be replaced with a standard guardsman with lasgun
6.limit one per squad.
7.may move and shoot
for modeling, the R.P.G. itself would be on the outside, to differentiate it from a regular missle launcher. to make it- take the mortar ammo and M.L. ammo from the heavy weapon kit.
1.cut the second groove on the mortar piece, then take the missle and cut the first big ring nearest to the front(there is a tiny ring then a regular ring, cut the regular one).glue those together.
2.the firing mechanism(the part your going to glue the R.P.G. to)is next. take the main part of the missle launcher(the part that you glue to the guardsman in the heavy weapon squad), cut the entire end off,it's the spot right behind the shoulder mount. next, shave off the imperial eagle, you wont be needing it.
3.this is the part where you got to be careful. you have to cut the whole tube off, right in front of the block where you used to put the bipod.but DON'T cut the small circle thing off(it's the part you glue the missle launcher shield thing to). cut a little but away from the larger part of the missle launcher tube you just now cut off. glue that on, now if you didn't mess up, you have the launcher.
now, glue the R.P.G. to the now converted launcher, and assemble it to the guardsman.
but dont use the bipod, R.P.G.'s don't need them.
enjoy your new weapon of the emporor.
if there is anything that should be changed, just post it.

Because they already have a RPG weapon. It is the Missile Launcher. The confusion may come from the fact that missile launcher (in 40k) is a misnomer. A missile launcher, in rw tech, is an anti-aircraft weapon, while a RPG is an anti-vehicle/infantry weapon. GW just called them Missile Launchers at first because it is/was a more well known term.
And if you want to model them as significantly different to the missile launcher model, just cut the handle from a melta bomb, then cut some short rod and pin the melta bomb to the front of the launcher tube leaving a small gap. That is pretty much how they look.

That, or get the arms from a Steel Legion Missile Team. That looks like an RPG.

Mech Tau Cadre: 2000 points, needs paint and magnets.
Paladins of Avalon (SW):-1500 points, needs paint.
Either that or you already have the "G" in Rocket-Propelled Grenade with the....ta da....Grenade Launcher. Which already has a decent chance at penetrating light armor (which RPGs are used for), simply lacking in the 48" range. I'd considered an idea like this or a Light Anti-tank Weapon (LAW), but the truth is the Guard are pretty set for heavy weapons. We have a weapon in our arsennel that covers every strength from 3 to 10, and every possible AP value. We might not always have our choice for the range on weapon A or AP of B, but there's a weapon somewhere in the guard armory to fulfill any role.
Though I must concede that I kinda like the idea of having more one-off or limited use weapons to replace heavy weapons for mobile units. Giving Elysians demo charges as a heavy weapon selection is cool, and a lighter version of the HK missile for infantry might not be bad. *shrugs* Make of it what you will.
What would be a cool weapon would be like a melta morter. It could fire a fusion explosive that would use the large blast template.
Cost per team-50
Large blast, heavy 1
Special Rules- Because of the emmense weight of the melta shell it fires much slower than any conventional weapon. Instead scattering the template, scatter a small marker like a bead as normal. During your next shooting phase, the mortar can't shoot and then place the blast template with the hole over the bead. Any models under it are hit.
I would just like to see an alternate ammo to the mortar like rocket and grenade launchers have.

not that an RPG is really needed seeing as people have said we already have both missile launchers and grenade launchers which fill that role rather well. I'd say if you want your guys to look tike they have RPGs then just model them that way, if anyone has a problem with that I wouldn't play them, its a game have some fun do what ya like.
Hardly a man-portable weapon though, it weighs over 200 pounds. Even a Space Marine isn't going to be toting one of these.Originally Posted by SnipeHunter
You think a lascannon looks particularly light? I've yet to figure out exactly how a pair of Imperial Guardsmen lugs one of those things around, yet a Space Marine just slings it over his shoulder.
having powered armor helps.Originally Posted by Sokhar
as for the guardsmen... everyone knows that HWteams get special PT for heavy lifting.
you also have to realize that most IG player after the lascannon is set that it doesn't move. So as far as we know the could of taken quite some time to get it all there and set up. As for one SMurf carring it well i personally think its highly unlikley that one could but you never know
