hey, im thinking about doing a 2nd marine forece now that the new codex is out and i was wondering what people think
mc thunder hammer
librarium, (2 wound 1)
might of heros
dreadnaught w. assault cannon
dread naught w. lascannon
2 five man squads w. melta guns an seargent w. melta bombs in drop pods (anti tank)
10 man squad w flamer in drop pod
10 man squad w. las cannon
10 assault marines
seargent w. power weapon
land raider (for hq)
heavy bolter sponsons
7 man devestator squad
4 heavy bolters
now my army could use a little bit of adjusting but for starters what do people think ?
my army are called the death keepers by the way, there colour scheme is black with silver shoulder pads and dark red weaponry
I have a few ideas but i need to know how many points your army is.
Personally i would drop one of the landraiders in favour of some land speeder tornado's. Your army is lacking a bit of speed, and armed with assault cannons and heavy bolters they will be able to flank your enemies and take out light armour/opposing dev's easily.
I would also drop the master and include a chaplain with a jump pack. Stick him in the assault squad and watch them reap the benefits of his reroll ability!
Lastly, I know its small, but i dont see any point in putting smoke launchers on your predator. you cant fire any weapons if you pop your smoke launchers and you want this think to be firing every turn because its a great anti-personnel tank!
Hope this helps!
Sounds fun I got the 2nd Marine Reg. set up in old anolog camies.
lol true what else can you do with 3 points anyway? :p
if anyone finds avatar offensive just pm and i will change it
The first thing that cross my mind is why this isn't in the Space Marine Army List forum.
Warhammer Fantasy: Warriors of Chaos, High Elves
Warhammer 40k: Eldar, Space Marines, Orks
i think a 10 men sqaud with a heavy weapon is not the most sound use of them :glare: . They are required to stand still all the time to actually use the weapon. Maybe you can split the group and use those new 5 marines for an other defensive or offensive squad. or use the points elsewhere.
i don't know what your enemies will be but it might be wise to add powerfists. that way you can kill high toughness models. a wraitlord for instance can't be hurt by regular marines, and the bombs can't be used against it because it's not a walker.
I agree with sharkimus, instead of the librarian, take a chapie with jump pack and stick him with assault marines.
One Shot, One Kill
your assault marine sergeant should have a PF instead of a PW, for 5 pts more you're really gonna kill alot more marines.
Take life seriously, its lethal.
