Ok, I want to use a karskin Sargent model for a veteran with a boltgun, I had originally planned to buy a Space Marine Scout, but the Karskin looks cool, anyone know how to convert a hellpistol into a boltgun? Its a stretch I know.
One other question
Since the model has a sword, do I have to give him a CCW?
Can't you cut off the hellpistol and cord, and just put a regular sm bolter in its place?
(can't really help you on the sword. you'd have to have a.. bendable bolter to have him holding it with both hands)
The problem with cutting off the hellpistol cable is that there's a lot of detail where the cable runs into the mini body. Lots of work to trim that cleanly. Here's the easy way to do this (I've converted a bunch of Kasrkin sgts. in a grenadiers army):
Leave the hellpistol in his right hand (as in the stock model). Trim the power weapon at the left wrist and cut the cable at the base of the sword hilt so the cable is intact and connected to the body. Before you glue the backpack on, twist the loose end of the power sword cable up behind the sgts back, so its end will be covered by the backpack. If the boltgun bit has a hand, simply attach it to left wrist. If the bolt gun does not have a hand, use a plastic one from one of the IG sprues. This ends up looking really good with minimum effort. And the hellpistol is legit because the model still has one one-handed and one two-handed weapon, and it counts as a CCW.
(I did this to convert my sgts. to hellpistol + chainsword instead of hellpistol + power weapon, though I also did two as stormbolter + hellpistol and they came out pretty cool.)

Thanks guys, I have finished my badass veteran with SOB bolters- I had to use an array of primitive tools ( nail Clippers) do take it out my SOBs, I used an extra head left over from a rhino and placed it in the other hand!
