    Iconography

Does anyone know where I can get decals of the raptor's icon or the scythes of the emperor's icon? Those are the two chapters that I have narrowed it down to. I would really like to have decals of these guys. As a sub-question, is there a second decal sheet besides the one with the ultramarines, salamanders, dark angels, black templer, imperial fists, crimson fists, and blood angels on it?

    Thanks!

Forge World sells one I think, and it might have the chapter's you're looking for. If it doesn't, you can get decal paper in some places and maybe design and print your own. Not sure how that would work.

Ok, I looked on forge world and they have terminator shoulder pads for raptors but no decal sheets. I may be looking in the wrong place though... Des anyone know about forgeworld making a decal sheet? I'm probably gonna email them or something to find out. Also, dou you guys think it would work if I glued the terminator shoulder pads over the regular ones? I imagine that would make for pretty large and wierd looking shoulder pads but I was thinking of putting thim on after I cut off that trim. Though that seems like a lot of work to me, especially on marines with miossile launchers and plasma cannons. Thanks everyone!

EDIT: Here's the URL for the shoulder pads: Raptor Shoulder Pads .

SMGuy, make your own shoulder pads. Now hold on, before you start with the yeah rights and the whatevers, heres how.
    1) You take some green stuff, press it onto the custom shoulder pad.
    2) When it cures pull it off, (hopefully without breaking it). Now you have a reverse image of the icon.
    3) Press a little bit of greenstuff into your press mold,
    4) press a normal shoulder pad into the back, (to allow it to sit on a regular shoulder pad), 5) remove it from both "molds and let it cure. When it cures, glue it onto the regular shoulder pads,
    6) Voila, not so instant, but cheap, custom shoulder pads

well, I just looked at the webpage of the shoulder pads from FW and my idea would still work, BUT, you would need to do some trimming of your press modl, etc. Good luck.

Analternative is to make a chapter insignia stencil out of greenstuff. Then you could at least get the basic symbol shape onto the model as a guide to the painting. Another idea is to make a stencil out of paper, then photocopy to have a few copies lying around to paint the squad.

    Just some ideas.

You could get some custom transfers printed up at Griffon Games or Ginfritter's. It costs a bit and you have to design the symbol from scratch or have them do the designing since they don't do copies of GW material. Both have some interesting stock decals too that you could check out. GG has some eagle or osprey decals that might be good stand-ins for a raptors army, they are available in white as well. Ginfritter has some eagle heads that look like they could match the raptors symbol very well. Check out all of their decals though, as you might find something else that looks interesting. They have some scroll-decals that would look good on vehicles or banners for example.

I bought like 10 sheets of blank decal paper from http://www.kustomrides.com for like 12 bucks or something.

You load them in your printer just like regular paper, then spray them with clearcote, cut them out, stick them in water, then slide them on.

Assuming you've got an image file of what you want and an editor to resize it and whatnot, it really couldn't be easier for those of us who can't paint worth a lick or sculpt.
