I thought of an idea for an Inquisitor HQ. For complete melee, but i wondering if the points for the efficiency of the accolytes would be worth the points, but i think this could work especialy well against Necrons since the initiative of the necron warriors is of 2, and that since all my squad would be equiped of power weapons, no we will be back rolls, this would be quite a surprise for the necron player...
Inquisitor with Blessed Weapon, 3 Crusaders, and 6 to 9 accolytes with power weapons and carapace armor.
The accolytes would cost 8+10+5 = 23 points. Its a bit expensive for a unit with a power weapon and a 4+ save, but a whole squad of power weapons could be quite deadly i think, especialy if they charge, maybe out of a land raider, but that would be 6 Accolytes, 3 Crusaders, and the Lord. (10 for a vehicule)

Only thing I'll say is that a Blessed Weapon cannot be taken by an Inquisitor. But you could take a Master Crafted Power Weapon, or a Force Weapon.

Inquisitor Lord w/ Powerweapon/Force Weapon. Familiar. Additionaly Inqusitors cannot have Blessed Weapons.
3x Acolytes w/ Powerweapons, and bolt pistols
3x Crusaders w/Powerweapons and Supression Shields
About 23 powerweapon attacks on the Charge. Initive 5 for the purposes of chasing aswell.

lord yossanrion inquisitor and hechman looks pretty good, i ill go
inquisitor lord w/ force weapon and inferno pistol
3 acolytes w/ manchatcher and power armour
3 crusaders with shield
3 combat sevitor
and familiar if versing high intitiative enemies
Can't have these, as they are both warrior henchmen. Only 3 are able to be taken. My personal preferance is the Crusader.3 crusaders with shield
3 combat sevitor
really i ddint know that, i thought you can take 3 of each henchmen
crusaders are too weak, i use an inquisitor with an evicerator, inquisitorial mandate, three acolytes with carapace armour, and power weapons, and three combat servitors. in a rhino
Making many of them strike at Initiative 1 ... which, against some opponents doesn't matter, but against others, it matters a lot.Originally Posted by userpaladin
Lots and lots of I3 power weapon attacks, whether they are S3 or not, is crazy .. I use a retinue very similar this one as a counter-assault unit in my FFVIII themed IG army:
Inquisitor Lord w/ Force Weapon, Inferno Pistol, Rosarius, Scourging
3x Acolytes w/ Power Weapons, Carapace Armour
I didn't even bother reading past these words. They are WRONG!Originally Posted by userpaladin
A model with WS = to a SM, a power weapon, and a shield that counts as a second CC weapon and gives a 4+ Inv. save? For only 20 pts you say? 9 PW attacks on the charge (with 3 Crusaders) is nasty enough already, add 9 more PW attacks from Acolytes and you got 18 PW attacks JUST from henchmen! Add in the 5 PW/FW from the =][= Lord and a few other attacks from the other henchmen, and you got some nasty CC death going on!
Hope I made my point.
