Recently I have been working on completing an entire company of marines ( I just love them). I am almost done, save for an additional assault squad, a couple of LS, and a techmarine. My question is this; how many chaplains does each company have? Is there 1 per company, or several? Just curious to see if I have an excuse to buy another chaplain
Thanks in advance.
Oh, and before you think I spend frivilously, keep in mind that I have been working on this off and on for the past 15 years. Only recently when I looked at how many marines I already had did I realize that this was easily within my reach. So kids, don't try this at home!
Marion: You're not the man I knew ten years ago.
Indiana: It's not the years, honey, it's the mileage.
For the last time, there are
NO FEMALE SPACE MARINES!!!!!
My DA codex (and they honour the codex in this respect) lists each company as having a Master(Captain), Chaplain, Apothecary and Standard Bearer.
Short answer 1 per company.
However if you want to have more the Chapter as a whole tends to have more than 10 Chaplains, the Chief Chaplain could acompany your company for example.
Every time you read this sig: a fairie dies!
Every Company has only a single Chaplain... This is also true for Librarians, Captains and Apothecaries. Several Techmariens may appear in a Company depending on the number of vehicles present.
The Master Chaplain is with the First Company...
I don't think each company has a librarian. They are a seperate section in the T.O.
Take life seriously, its lethal.
Oh yes this is true.. My mistake...
The Apothecaries are also organised apart from the companies although they are assigned to them... Librarians simply accompany companies when required... my mistake...
According to the Space Marines codex:
Each Company has its own: Chaplain, Captain, Apothecary, and Standard Bearer.
The Headquarters Staff (which is basically including the "Armoury" and "Librarians" sections) has: Master, Senior OFficers, Administrators, Support Personnel, ALL Librarians, Techmarines, Servitors, Whirlwinds, Vindicators, and Predators.
So, only ONE Chaplain per Company.
Unless you feel like having more. An especially pious chapter would probably have more than eleven.
Quote for probably forever 'cause it rocks:
"Slaughter them, men, and bring me their hats."
Also, there are a few Chaplains in the HQ staff, lumped under Senior Officers.
I'd go with 10 (one for each company), A Head Chaplain, and 2-3 Assistants. So 13-14. Say 15 to round it out.

there is definitly more than 1 because of your spiritual leader goes down in battle anbother will surely step up in his place and they would have been training under him for a long time.
so there is more than 10 and probably under 20
Ghost's of Terra
i don't think that chaplains librarians or techmarines are something you have a set number of per company. They are in there own groups and fight with whatever company. for instance 2-3 possibly more compnays go to battle. the number of chaplains is per chapter and not per company. It could mean 5 librarians and 1 chaplain and 6 techmarines go with those three companys. next battle those same guys may fight with three different companies also the number of chaplains librarians techmarines can very in ratio. maybe there are no tanks(for the marines) and they are fighting a very very heavy daemon chaos army. probably not that many librarians either. but then their might be 7 chaplains. so really whatever the mission calls for. ok i think i got my message out there
a little off topic here but:
