Pretty much to piss off my friend who says beakies suck, I'm making a thread about how much they rock. Stand up for those poor, defenceless helmets!
The beaky helmets are super-cool. I wish you got more of them in, well, any of the marine boxes, but I'm glad you get one or two in almost all of them. I used most of mine--I intended to pick out my special weapon guys by giving them beakies, but I forgot. At least I have one or two for every squad, and a couple in my assault squad.
My friend, DWG, went a bit further. He took all the ones he got (and some of mine) and made his entire assault squad with beakies--it's badass. Fits the look of the assault squad really well, actually.
Three cheers for beakies... Hip hip, hooray! Hip hip, hooray! Hip hip, hooray!
Has anyone made beaky Terminators?
I don't think a beakie terminator would look right, but not having seen one either i could be wrong. I do have a Wolf Lord that i have given a beakie helmet to, and he looks uber-cool, especially with his ornamental warhammer dwarf axe!
I like the idea of a beakie assault squad, although i do like the looks of some of the new black templar helmets - along the lines of a grey knight helmet (old school medieval helmet) and a mix of beakies and those would also be cool!
I tend to specialise my beakie marines with either converted poses, or make them specialised weapon carriers. I like them so much i bought 5 vintage beakie metal minis just to up the number of beakies in my army.

Space Wolves are badasses that operate just barely within the rules.
13th Co. didn't even know there were rules applying to how badass they could be.
... and Daemonhunters make it three - now just need a spare room to store it all!!!
I manged to get some "beakies" from my friends and I use them in my Chaos armies. I must agree about them being very, very nice.
I made one into a CloseCombat Lt wearing preheresy Thousand Sons colours and he's rightfully feared.
Beakie Helemts ROCK! Sieriously, all Space Marine helemts should be beakies. They are just too uber-cool to ignore man.
Beakies can be painted with some cool schemes... shark teeth and flames and stuff. And they look cool...
In the new tactical squad box you get some really cool stuff, and one of those 'bolbed' shoulder pads. I made a veteran segreant with a power axe from the assult marine box with a beaky, the dotted shoulder pad, and the really ord (mk 6?) power armor. He rocks big time!
"I have died a thousand deaths, and I will die a million more..."
Back in the day, I had a boxed set of ALL beaky marines. Then again, that's all there were at the time. They live on as my buddy's Black Legion army today.
beakies rock! anyone who doesn't want them and is willing to trade for them pm me. [/endcommercial] i unfortunately only had enough beakies for one assault squad, but it rocks! i need at least 10 more :o for my other squad . anyone willing to help me out?
