    Greatings to you all!

    Ive always thought that the command choise is a tough one. With deamonhunters you can always make it easy for yourself and use a GK Brother Captain in terminator armour and deepstrike him in with a bunch of GK termies. In this case your Commander has a quite clear role.. get deap inside the battle and give them hell. Inquisitors on the other hand and their retinue makes me abit unsure. What role would i give my inquisitor general and his retinue?

    Should he also be close combat oriented with a close combat based retinue, the HQ chois is often a very expensive one and how do get the most out of the points spent. When i was new to this game I often was abit restrictive with my use of my commander on the field like if I was afraid that he would die. I always took powerfield and such to give him a bigger chance of survival but after the battles I often got the fealing that ive spent the points wrongly because the commander was almoast always the model closest to my table edge..

    Ill start with converting brother Stern and use him with a bunch of GK termies but after that my next project will be to create a nice Inquisitor + retinue HQ, I just love to see John Blanches touch in every model, the flying skulls and kerubes and strange funny looking people just hanging around the cool inquisitor. Im glad they created a purpous for these guys in the DH codex.

    Well what advice could you give me for a badass HQ squadd
    does anyone use ranged base hq at all btw?

    In general i dont use HQ inqisitors but my use of elite quises could be used.
    I tend to use gun servitors with heavy weapons dependant on the enemy. Thouse BS 4's should not be wasted.
    If you want a good inquisitor try giving him a psycannon and two sages.......BS 5 and a re-role shot for the squad. If you use plazma weapons in the retinue this is essential.
    Try giving the lord a power weapon but dont bother with power fists as they only improve his stregth to 6.
    Keep the anti-deamon stuff out of the lord unless fighting chaos(duh) and include a few choise pices when fighting an Avatar.

    You may not think this is such a good way of using a lord and i bow to experiance but what ever way you use the lord remember this: You can make an inquisitor lord and retinue very powerful but this will force you to specialise. Dont be affraid, use the lord in the role he is suited for, adapting the retinue for each enemy, and try not to make him into a jack of all trades. To many jobs spoil the retinue.

    kit your inquisitor out in artificer armour (2+ save) and the icon of just (for that 4+invulnerable save back up) and use him for close combat. give him a force weapon which means you don't need hammerhand n e more and equip him with scourging in case they try to run. holocaust shudnt be wasted either as it can seriously damage a unit ready to finish of in close combat. thats my advice n e way!

    I use my inquisitor as an auxillery unit. Emporers Tarot is very nice, especially since I use try to Crusader Rush with termies most games. Using 2 Mystics (I believe that is the henchmen that allows you to attack deamons that summon within a certain range of the Inquisitor) to attack Demons that port in is also very nice verse; especially if you place it within 12" of a Leman Russ. It is nice that the template that the demons are placed under is the same template as the leman's attack.

    As for Holocaust, I would avoid using it. It is good for GK termies, but your henchmen saves are not that good.

    Sinless - hehe thanks well i guess your henchmen appreciate you not using holocaust with them around

    Dace-0s tactick with holocaust is not that bad though.. I think I will try it with my Terminator Capitan

    Mr shadow - Ill try that Shooty based elite choise Inq+ret, its quite similar to my Ultramarine HQ, with Special/heavyweapon + techmarine combo.

    My conclusion so far.

    Ill still go with a Terminator Captain as HQ and experiment with a shooty inq-ret elite choise

    Any other ideas?
