OK. So I'm gonna want to put a twin-linked autocannon on my dreadnought. Only ... where do I get one? How should I model it? The kit only comes with a lascannon and assault cannon.
Been through the online store pretty closely, and the only suitable piece looks like the chaos dreadnought autocannon arm. Seems silly to spend 1/4 of the cost of an entire dreadnought just to get an autocannon shipped to me....
I'm open to suggestions.
Well, if you really want something nice, head over to Forgeworld, they got a sweet looking AC Dreadnought arm.
Otherwise, hook up with a Guard player and Trade/steal(j/k)/'borrow' some auttocannons that he didn't use when he bought heavy weapon teams(as they only seem to use LC, MLs and HBs) and use the LC arm as a base.
I hope I helped!
They sell them on forge world, but I bet you can make them from modifing the lascannons
Here's a question I have. Unfortunately INQ models are twice the scale of 40K models. Sounds like what’s been said here that Forge World is the same scale as 40K. Is this true? Forge World models are quite impressive and I'd be amazed if they are same scale. If not all Forge World models are too scale and just some of them are... how can you tell which ones are?
What do you mean INQ are twice the scale of 40k models?
He's talking about GW's Inquisitor game. Yeah, their model scale is about twice that of 40k.
Yes, Forgeworld stuff is the same scale as WH40K. They get the insane detail by using resin molding instead of the process that GW's core lines use. Anything that isn't 40K scale explicitely says so in it's description or in the section heading.
And not to bring down the party, but an Autocannon (TL or otherwise) is a fairly inefficient weapon for a Daemonhunters army.
INQ = Inquisitor. I bought some inquisitor bitz to check them out and compare them first hand glad I didn't pay to much for what I bought. It would have been a pain to buy Forge World, with them often being expensie and all, and have them also not to scale.
Thanks for the info.
Hmm, never heard of that game. I must be living in my own little world.
I think autocannons are pretty decent btw. I can't see why not. What else would you use instead then?
The only dread that I would consider using in a DH army would be the LC, ML Dred. It has all the firepower needed to bring down enemy tank and because it has the Shrouding, it will be hard to target with return fire.
That's just my opinion and I could be on crack.
