Do you think the armored company is better than the regular IG army?
It depends on who you are and who you will be fighting against.
Armies with not many high S weapons wont be able to get through tank armour that much. But they will probley have alot of anti-infantry stuff.

Do you have uber micro...????
no I believe they are both pretty equal, but the rare occurances of ACs on the field allow it a more "surprise" factor, since your opponent probably wont be fielding enough heavy weapons to stop the tanks fast enough. On the other hand though ACs are a very fragile in the sense that if two of your tanks die you can be severly crippled, while with a standard guard army if 30 guys die, you have another 150 waiting right behind them.
vs necrons NO!!!!
vs most other armies if they dont take enoght at stuff yes

ever heard of battle cannons on necron squads? after first turn of fighting a 1500pts necron army I already took down 20 of their 60 models... they were phased out by turn two... and they hadnt yet gotten their guns completely into range... yes they can glance, but you shouldnt be giving them the chance...
just not enough cannon fodder. Any decent enemy is going to have some good strong tank hunters, and he can use those to cripple your force, while the rest of his army soaks up whatever else hits him.
A space marine army drops in some termintaors next to a pair of lemans, and kills both of them. Then you have a lot of guys to slaughter those terminators with, but that makes a diversion from everything else, and the terminators have done their job. Then you get to close to a twin-linked lascannon, and pop, you lose some more. The rest of their army will be able to bring you down once you are crippled. The trick to winning with AC is that you have to cmash them quickly with all of those big guns of yours. If they cripple you its a losing game from there on. so hit them hard, and merciless at the beginning.
Definantly doable, it's just harder, and cooler.
