Are Grey Knight Terminators (and Grand Master) and Land Raider Crusader over the top for 1500 pts???
Well, a Grand Master, 4 Terminators and a Psycannon w/ a Landraider Crusader is 609...Originally Posted by inquisitor432

A Brother Captain, 4 Terminators, and a normal Landraider is 495, which is a little more reasonable.
I think using ANY GKT (aside from a lone BC for an HQ choice) in a 1500 or less game is ridiculous. And I've never been happy with an LR/LRC in games under 2000. But that's my own experience.
I suggest always taking the Grand Master, I think it may be too exsesive though have you contemplated 10PAGK and a Grand Master?
Over the top maybe.... Its a risk, but if those Termies hit the front lines they will cut your oppenent like a hot knife thorugh butter, leaving destruction in their wake of their onslaught by the masses that are inflicted upon every helpless soul being ripped to shred's by their immensly powerful power weapons they wield unrivaled by their bretheren space marines!

I agree, but tend to use the GM in games of 1500 points and upwards.Originally Posted by mEGALOMANIAC

I haven't even assembled the LRC let alone used it, and I don't have plans to use it unless I play a 2000 point game or up, the terminators have been used a fair bit, but never in anything under 1500 points. I found I also needed alot more PAGk than what I bought.
Well, I go heavy, so I run two dread, and LRC, 5GKT, 1GM, and 15 GK in 1500 pts.
It's too many eggs in one basket. I play a lot of Tau and IG, so I've learned not to gat too attatched to my armor.
As in tanks, you know? 'Armored company' and that stuff? Eh? Eh?
hem hem.... anyway, I don't really like tanks. Too big. Too hard to assemble, too long to paint. And way too freakin' expensive. Not my thing.
A man's at odds to know his mind, for his mind is aught he has to know it with.
With 1500 point games, you definitely want the Termies. That's kind of the point of having GK, isn't it?
I would not recommend LRC for 1500 or lower. Draws too much attention and if it's carrying the termies, can be much worse. Spend on dreadnoughts, IG help, or pad your army.
Grand Master vs. Brother-Capt is kind of a toss up and there are arguments on both sides. GM if you can fit it in, but wouldn't say it's a must have.
If you have PAGK's in your army, try loading 5-7 of them into the LRC and giving them a couple Incinerators. The transport ensures that they are within template range (and charge range) and if you teleport your GM to one side he can assist in the combat on your next turn, but until then your opopnent will have trouble seeing over the combat and the LRC to target him. If your PAGK's win the combat in one round, your opponent will still have to take a Ld test to target the GM if he has a retinue.
I'm going to use crusader w/term agaist my friend who can play Chaos or Tyranid at 1500, I'm betting on Chaos but am ready for bugs. If chaos I will charge forward with crusader, deploy term, teleport in gk and reek havoc.
Grand Master (Auspex/psycan/THomer/sacred incen)
5 GK Term (Incinerator)
442 Total HQ
Crusader @ 255
9 GK 2 psycan J @ 325 Troop/Fast Attack
