why would you spend this much in one go?
i wonder how many of these gw has sold
I really can't think of anything witty to say.
im betting that only a few have actually put that much money towards that...of course if i had the money i would most likely get it as well...although im not a fan of rhinos...my guess is that it'd be easier to just make your own big package like that since that's all it really is...great starting army tho  for like a 3000pt game:tongue:
hah you do realize that buying this set will not be any cheaper than buying each individual one in one go. i believe there was an old thread about this... but whatever. someone actually calculated the whole cost and it was about the same price. i'm not totally sure if it was the same price or some bogus number like $10 less. there really is no point in buying that set.
It's for those who want to display them, and say "Oh cool, I have the whole UM 2nd company! Check it out!" It's not the best for an army I guess, as I'm sure a lot of people won't take so many Rhinos.
How many points is that?
Hmm. Sixty Marines, twenty Assault Marines, twenty Devs with missile, plasma, lascannon and heavy bolter, two Dreads, two Preds, Whirlwind, six Rhinos, a Land Raider and a God-knows-what Command Squad.
Gimme a second.
60 * 15 = 900 points, plus 6 times 6 for the flamers, and 60 for the missile launchers = 996 points + 6 Rhinos = 300 points, no upgrades.
20 * 22 = 440 + 10 for the plasma pistols = 450 points.
Predator (both types) 120 + 170 = 290 points.
20 * 15 = 300 + (2*15)+(2*20)+(2*35)+(2*35) = 510 points.
Whirlwind = 85 points
Land Raider Crusader = 265 points
2*105 = 210
HQ: This is tough. The commander looks like he has a lightning claw, bolt pistol, an Iron Halo (on the backpack) and Terminator Honours, going by the shoulderplate and the breastplate. Assuming he's a Master, that's about 70+1+25+15+25 = 136 points. The Chaplain looks like a Chaplain, so that's 100 points. Command Squad: 5*15 + 10 + 25 + 25 + 20 = 155 points.
Total: 391 points.
Therefore, the Ultramarines Second Company is roughly 3497 points. Funny, I thought it might be more.
Well see the pictures are just of the defaults, they could choose all of the most expensive upgrades and vehicles and perhaps push the points value to... near 4,000, perhaps? I don't want to sit and calculate.
You could definitely push it past 4000 if you tried. Add a Librarian, flesh out the Command Squad, give the vehicles upgrades, etc. That's just the base points cost of that army.
You couldnt add a Librarian and have it still be just 2nd company. Librarians are a seperate group from the various companies, for that matter so are predators. Also, bikes are clearly included in battle companies, so where are they?
Take life seriously, its lethal.
