So i have a game coming up against a space marine player. His gone for the ever popular lots of apothecaries tactic. From his recent games i have seen he goes for a blob kind of tactic.
Front rank - 6 termies 2 assault cannons couple of leader blokes
second rank 2 tactical squads with lascannons Lead by apoths
third rank more tactical and another apoth
3 land speeders with multimelters for mashing tanks
So thats a whopping 3 apoths in his ranks. Its a tough nut too crack.
I was thinking about using an eversor too try and lop up the termies and then get in there with grey knight terminators. I don't wanna risk them in a fight against a tooled up terminator squad with powerweps and leaders and that +d3 attacks psychic power.
Ive never really played space marines with daemonhunters before i usually play pure grey knights so any tactic/wargear tips would be handy
So any suggestions on how i should crack this nut?
if you're willing to use an assassin, it seems to me the vindicare was made for this...
it seems like they travel in a big group, you could try to drop an orbital strike on them, make them break up, then divide and conquer.
if you're feeling particullarly brazen, you could tankshock a rhino or landraider into the bulk to section off a chunk, where your terminators can mass against them.
to kill the termies, i would try to shoot them down with plasma from strom troops, tho i don't know how pure you run your DH

I think a nice tactic would be to concentrate your fire, once an apothecarie ignored an unsaved wound, that ability cant be used by him for that turn, then you can let your stormbolters mow them down,
Shooting at 1 squad per turn allows him to use only 1 apothecary per turn.
And of course use lots of guns/weapons the apothecary cant ignore.(power weapons and guns with strenght 8 or higher)

Daemonhunters dont have many str 8+ guns and he can use all 3 apoths too aid that one squad so i think im gonna have to go for the plasma heavy stormies
It seems if you're ever going to use a Vindicare, now is the time.
He should have the Apothcaries popped by turn 4/5 so he can probably have a go at a few termies too.
I'd still run the Plasma IST idea to, and maybe a Shooty Inq retinue to cap it off, that lot should blow him away with ease.
I watched a snail crawl along the edge of a straight razor. That's my dream. That's my nightmare. Crawling, slithering, along the edge of a straight... razor... and surviving.

But then, he doesn't explode, now, does he?
