Welcome to Librarium Online!
I am currently starting to play with my 1000pt Space Marines list, and pretty soon I will want to expand to 1500pts. My question is should i spend 200pts on a 5man Termie Assualt Squad, or should i spend the points on 1 LST (HB/AC), 1 LST (HB/AC/TMML), and Meltabombs for my 10man Assualt squad?
My current army consists of 3 troop squads, 2x 4Bolters 1 Las, 1x Sarge 8Bolters 1 Plamsa Gun, 2 Fast Attack-1x LST HB/AC, 10man Assualt squad (2xPP, Sarge w/ PF/CS) led by a Chaplain w/ Jump pack (MoS)(HQ) Heavy SUpport- 1x Dev Squad 4Bolters 4ML
I will definately add another Dev Squad (same as above 4 Bolters, 4ML) and a whilrwind (not sure about type of missiles yet), but I'm not sure about the other 210 points and how to use them...i could go 10 points over and arm my assualt squad with meltabombs and go with the assualt termies....but idk so i pose this question to you cool folks
Well, I'd go for the new cc termies, 1 they look good, 2 they'll give ya some nice cc punch.
The speeders are nice though... depends you want more cc or more shots? base your decision on that, but if ya take termies be sure to include one of the following: Land Raider either variant, Drop pod, or teleport homer. It's up to you but my choice for cc termies is a Land Raider Crusader with a wing and a prayer.
Qui est Mortis? Lol, the rep... neggatized for something... lol that nobody payed attention too... Lol Goodbye all, BTW This is permanent goodbye so save some bandwidth mods delete this account :D  :D  :D
well ass termies are rather hard to use. i think it is better with power fists and assault cannons. harder in CC and they can shoot
yep I would also go with the normal termies because they have a 24" range with assault cannons and hit much harder with there powerfists.
But in a 1500 points army I would go with the LST and melta bombs.

I'd get an LST and a dreadnought.

well what ever you do, dont get melta bombs, ever, your better off flying around the back of the tank, and shooting it with plasmas on 10 armour. consider changing the plsama gun in your tactical squad to a melta gun, its far more effecitve when used with a powerfisted sargent, this squad should also have some means of transport probably. Consider taking traits, and tappering the rest of your army around it, you cant go wrong with cleanse and purify, also blessed be the warroirs would be a nice edition to your assault marines. With a chappy and 9 man assault squad , ive whiped out 8 man terminator squads before even the sargent could make an attack, with blessed be the worriors, or no mercy no respite, but i like taking them as elites more fluffy and allows me to field 2x tornados and a bike squad. Well, assault terminators are, in my opinion, not worth it at that level of points. Terminators altogether probably aren't worth it, but really it's preferable to take a normal Terminator squad and forsake the 4+ invulnerable and the stun effect of the thunder hammer to get two assault cannons. Assault Terminators are very, very specialised. They are only good in assault, and only against enemies without power weapons, and preferably where they are not outnumbered. Regular Terminators can do both, and at 1500 points you'll want them to do both.
Now, Land Speeders are, in my opinion, always a good investment. Well, provided that they're used properly. They can be kitted in a variety of ways, so there's your flexibility. And they'll be tons cheaper.
Definately LST's. HB + AC is the only way to go.
Assualt terminators have a tendancy to do absolutely nothing during games. Because they are slow and have no shooting attacks you could literally have them chase a foe the entire game while getting shot up. Id stay away from them altogether.
Normal terminators are the way to go if you want shock troops.
Either way, the LST's will do more for you in the end.

Efficiency VS Point Cost VS Ease Of Use - Your best bets:
1) Chaplain led Assault squad - 2 plasma pistols, powerfisted sergeant
2) 8 man Devastator squad - 4 missile launchers
3) Land Speeder Tornado - HB + AC
