My friend plays the steathly raven guard and already has a tac. squad, an assault squad,a dreadnought,a speeder and a librarian, and he wants to know how to make hi army more stealthy any tips...?
I think a scout squad should fit the bill perfectly, infiltrating forward with those sniperrifles.
Ah, Raven Guard. The Space Marine chapter after my own heart.
Too bad Archetype isn't around right now - he's a Raven Guard "master" of sorts, he could help you out much better than I ever could, but I'll do my best.
Raven Guard like to use surgical strikes with Drop Pods, and they are experts at it.
A few squads in Drop Pods, a couple Scouts squads (as said; they are extremely fluffy in a Raven Guard army, if I recall correctly), and plenty of Assault Squads should do the trick rather well.
I would not recommend taking many tanks at all, as they are pretty unfluffy for Raven Guard - the only "tanks" I would take are Landspeeders (fluffy) and Dreadnoughts (not as fluffy, but not unheard of).
Your friend needs to make sure he has at least two of his compulsory Troop choices before he should buy all the other parts of his army. ^_^
Scouts are definitely a very good way to go, simply because of the new plastics that are out/are coming out. They look magnificent and shouldn't be too hard to convert. ^_^
Hope this helps!
dont they have see but not seen or something so they can give infiltrate to Devs.
"They shall all taste OBLIVION!,.....which tastes like Red Bull, which is disgusting."
I'm pretty sure that they don't, actually.Originally Posted by Cypher_Redeemed
They have the one that can give you Veteran Assault Squads (as Elites), and some other trait that I don't think fits their fluff that well - when I plan the army list, I usually just use the one trait, myself.
The only thing is that there drawback is (flesh over steel) meaning they cant get marines in there with the speed of a rhino or razor and if u do it cost u a fast attack slot. Or u can take no traits at all.
To do the bidding of the god of decay death and corruption is to be rid of all things that makes you weak only in return for the control of your soul!
Which isn't a horrible disadvantage. As I said before, Raven Guard are known for their quick, surgical strikes, crippling the enemy quickly. They don't drive Rhinos and Razorbacks around the battlefield - they drop in via Drop Pod, Deep Strike, and they use Infiltrate (Scouts) to get the job done.Originally Posted by AgeofGold
Well your friend should definately get your hands on some of those new plastc scouts that are coming out soon. They are stealthy and really cool, and also fit in with Raven Guards fluff.
