What is required for the Imperail Guard to have allies? Do the allies need and HQ and two troops? Couldn't find it in the codex, thanks!
The exact information is in Codex Witchhunters and Codex Deamonhunters. These are the only two that I know of, with the possibility of Kroot?
Basically if you have filled the requirements of the IG force organization list, IE HQ and Two troop choices you can induct 2 Troop choices or one of every other choice into your IG Army.

ig can also have kroot allies, I think you have to look in the kroot codex for info (that's in chapter approved, on gw's website)
and, you can also have a deathwatch kill team allied to you, but the rules in that are in some white dwarf or another.

I thought I heard soemwhere that you could include a troop choice of another army as one of your elite choices for their normal point cost and an extra fee... maybe I'm crazy...

You gotta chosebetween Witch Hunters, Deamon Hunters and Kroot.
I actually like the idea of Kroot, they give you lots of selection in the rules.
And being able to have a jumppacked squad ALL with Eviserators (Same rules as Chainfists) can be lost of fun vs Tanks!!!
Hmmm... well I might take me some of them Kroot allies... but I don't want to use the models (why would the IG stand the Kroot as allies, anyway?).
What kind of alternate fluff could I use to replace the Kroot models... I was thinking some sort of cannabalistic deathworld-style squad, but that won't explain the jump-pack abilities...
It fits fine with the fluff... Kroot are good fighters and they act as mercenaries... The Imperium sees them as a nessisary means to an end. They can always be dealt with later...Originally Posted by kidsyndrome

Well technically the kroot are decended from man eating parrots.... :wacko: you could always go with a squad of ambushing stalker kindred, also you could take fleet of footing hounds, or maybe just carnivore squads to suppliment your cc ability. My personal favorite however is the chance to get hunter kindred, some of the cheapest (point wise) snipers in the game, although you'd need to sacrifice a heavy support choice for them.
