Hi, I've made some rules for a couple of vehicles i'm gonna make, just wanted ur views on them:
Armour: 12, 11, 10
Weapons: Heavy Bolter (targeter)
BS: 3 (4)
Armour: 14 all
BS: 3 (4)
Size: War Machine
Weapons: Mega gun-battery (4) Earthshaker
Long-barreled gun-battery (4) Demolisher
2 Sponson mounted Mega gatling blast heavy bolters
twin -linked autocannon
Specials: 4 Imperial Fields
Structure Points: 4
Category: War Machine
So what do u think, and also would you use them?
maybe the skimmer, although i'd probably end up with a heavy flamer instead and wouldn't need the targetter because of that (that's just me though, since my army is assaultive); exit points?
only thing with the guard is, stick a squad out too far away from support (in this case with the 24" skimmer move) and they're pretty much useless or dead (if the guy gets lucky glancing rolls) the next turn unless they're in deep cover.
although i'd probably still use one, just one in my case; replacing the one chimera i use. offers IG a very good (maybe a bit too good) of a way to grab objectives or table quarters that are 24" from the firebase in a turn.
as for the war machine, i don't like sinking too many points into just one unit (although i don't have too much experience with titans/war machines). the demolisher cannons seem a bit unneeded with the earthshaker cannons there, and not sure if it's got indirect fire (that would suck for any enemy trying to hide from 4 large templates in a salvo)
probably be more practical to just field the same amount of basilisks/leman russes/heavy weapons platoons point-wise; one turn of concentrated firepower, would see those shields gone, and a good lascannon or equivalent hit would mince the armor.
with 4 demolisher tanks (although battle tanks would do better with range) at half that price, you have four separate targets each with 14 armor facing towards the enemy, covering a wider area of fire, not including any troops from the rest of that points left over.
I like the skimmer but the zwiehander i think to **** up to even be in the game, Just to power for ig.
Remember ig go on tactics not power(even though they are power in there own way)
thats a lot of points on hte second one. It entirely defeats the purpoes of IG to go with just one enourmous vehicle.

Well thanks for the comments, I'd prbly use the Zweihander only in large battles, seeing as it can only be used in 2000+ point armies anyway, or as an objective, an ambush mission would be good. The transport is designed mainly with storm troopers or armoured fist squads in mind, and for seizing objectives before the big guns get there.
i know i know, the imperial guard use those super heavy tanks and all...
but in battle, what would seem more fluffy, half your army being a superheavy tank, or double the amount of infantry and tanks you have on the field... i don't know, maybe it's just me
I see what u mean, but I am prbly going for an armoured company, so its the sort of thing that you would see in an armoured company in a big battle, but as I say, it prbly would only be used in a big battle or a specificc scenario...
