I was wondering, what sort of tactics do you guys use? Like, depending on what unit your using and what your up against, where you would deploy, how would you move etc. You don't have to list them all, maybe just your favorites.
Personaly, what I would do is I would put my Inquisitor with Psycannon and retinue with a Plasmacannon on a hill or building so it can have a clear view of things around him. (worked excellently in my last game)
I always try to put my GK's at the edge of my deployment zone and just try to keep moving from cover to cover until I'm inrrange to shoot and assault.
With my Dread, I try to put in a place where it has LOS with something that could cause damage to my amry, but not to my dread i.e. something with only heavy bolters or has a short range.
Thats all I can think of right now.
I deploy heavy to one side, with a Land Raider and Chimera taking GKs and ISTs into close range along with WH Seraphim. With a GK Teleport Attack, GK B-C and retinue and Callidus in Reserve, I can count on something to DS just before the GKs charge to offer support or just draw enemy fire. My opponent can then throw all his troops into HTH with Grey Knights (risky at best for most armies) or back off to shoot...but I still have one Deep Striking unit left to mess with him.
"HQ, my LOS is blocked by a soda bottle. I'm moving to unmask my guns."
"Negative! The soda bottle is the Carnifex!"
"Dang proxy models!"
