I've just recieved some money to spend on Warhammer and I want to get some terminators but I'm not sure which type I should get. Since the new Assault Termies just came out I have a choice between both box sets. I play Blood Angels and thought that having assault Termies deepstrike next to the Death Company and Chaplain with teleport homer would really hurt enemy infantry and tanks. However I also like the idea of 2 Assault Cannons but don't want to keep them in my rear raks as fire support when they have Powerfists, it just seems like a waste of points. Please let me know what you guys think becuase right now i'm leaning towards the Assault Termies becuases i like the Tactic of the Death company Decoy and deploy. Thanks a bunch guys

deepstriking Assault terminators is a bad idea, since they get shot at fr a turn before they can assault. The regular terminators can certainly be played aggressively up-front. just advance them and fire every turn. if you run up against anything to big, just charge it.
Take life seriously, its lethal.
Do not deep strike/drop pod assault terminators, if you decide to take assault terminators either have them footslog it (a waste of points in my opinion) or put them in some kind of a land raider(even more points...).
If you're dead set on getting terminators go with the normal ones, they're more flexible and easier to use. I'd reccomend really thinking about them though, they're expensive money and points wise, in my opinion those points are often times spent elsewhere.
I can read now!
The only thing I like about the deepstriking is that my Death company still has its movement and assault phases that turn even though the Termies have deepstriked right on them with Teleport homer. Therfore the DC and chaplain can tie down any enemy threat for one turn while my Assault Termies charge into combat the next turn. If I'm lucky with my blackrage roll they could have up to 18' for a charge (6' blackrage, 6' move, 6' charge) which is rewally good for a bunch of termies. This massive assualt on a flank by these two units will cause my opponent to try and support his units leaving them vulnerable to other attacks by my tornado, dreadnought, assault sqaud, and tactical squads. The death company with chaplian will make sure that the Termies arent threatned by rapid firing squads or heavy squads by charging them and locking them in combat while the termies with possible 18' charge range per turn wreak havoc 3/4 of the way up the field. Walking normal termies just doesnt make sense for a BA army. I want to be in my opponents face ASAP.

Normal Terminators seem like your best bet here. 1 you can deepstrike them and unleash some serious firepower, then the next turn you can assault the crap out of stuff after you've fired again.
But, as I rather like the new assault terminators I will make a suggestion. use your death company or scouts or what ever you want in cc equip it with a teleport homer. once this squad gets into cc have the termies come in just 1 inch from the back of your guys, now they are protected from most shots that could have come their way by a raging melee and beleive me, your opponet will get really scared when he sees termies that are on the verge of assault and seemingly there is nothing to be done for it.
So basically drop them behind a cc that's already going, with the homer you won't crash and you can position your self for protection from incoming fire, then on the next turn you can lay the deathblow on the squad that's fighting your occupied one. Then you just move on continuing the fight from there. Or consider taking all comers and dragging even more hapless foes into the melee, gl and hf.
Qui est Mortis? Lol, the rep... neggatized for something... lol that nobody payed attention too... Lol Goodbye all, BTW This is permanent goodbye so save some bandwidth mods delete this account :D  :D  :D
Your a blood angle, any fool who shoots your termintors instead of your deathcompany devserses what he will get... sounds like a good plan to me, but the best plan might be to instead pick up a couple of baals or skimmiers. Peace
If Assault termies DS I would rather shoot them than DC any day.
That said my 2P:
normal termies with assault cannons would be my preference, but.....
This is BA, are you sure you want to pay that much for a member of death company? what about the small squad size? for BA I would rather have a tooled honour guard than termies any day of the week
Im with Chere on that. Termies are not a great idea in BA armies. Secondly, assualt terminators are TERRIBLE. Any decent player can keep you from ever getting them into close combat and other then that they are mearly sitting ducks. You will be far better served by Tactical Termies.

Efficiency VS Point Cost VS Ease Of Use - Your best bets:
1) Chaplain led Assault squad - 2 plasma pistols, powerfisted sergeant
2) 8 man Devastator squad - 4 missile launchers
3) Land Speeder Tornado - HB + AC
Whether its Tactical or Assault Termies I have a chance of loosing them to the Death company so I'm not worried. If thats the problem I buy 2 extra termies and put them in as buffers. The people I regularily play know how deadly my DC is and they usually try and take it out becuase they know not to mess with it. I'm not to keen on tactical termies becuase they seem like a waste in close combat. Sure they'll eventually kill off the squad they're up against but they go last. If you run into a sqwuad with a powerfist and you have to make 4 invulnerable saves its going to hurt. The thing with assault termies in a BA army is that they have the possibility of moving/charging 18' in one turn and when they charge they are almost garunteed to go first in combat with the +1 inititive from Furious charge(which i get for free:shifty: Blood angels Goooo!!) and then need only a 3+ to wound also due to furious charges strength bonus. So my opponent can either rapid fire at my DC and face a 3+ armour save plus "Feel No Pain" or they can rapid fire at termies and face a 2+save and a 5+ invulnerable. I think that assault termies are undercut alot of the time even though they are a really good unit.

Id go with tactical termies just because ur a BA player. you should already have a decent close combat army. So i think your termies would do better shooting.
