I got a question for my space wolve army, in my 10-man grey hunter packs, i have 5 w/bolters and ccw, 1 w/plasma, 2 w/plasma pistols and chainswords, and 2 w/bp and pf.
do you think i should switch the bolters on the powerfist guys to bolt pistols so that they can charge?? or should i leave them the way they are, with bolters?
leave them with bolters, true grit and counter attack means that GH are very intimidating as they can fire like mad and still get the extra attack if you charge
I would switch them to bolt pistols. With those 2 powerfists you want to charge into combat fast, against most opponents. 2 extra fist attacks on the turn you charge can matter a lot.
Also, on this pack I'd prefer a meltagun instead of a plasmagun, for the reason stated above.
Though with both it's both a matter of preference and of what you regularly play. If you regularly play very aggressive opponents which will charge you despite your fists, then the bolters and the plasmagun are better.
But against less aggressive opponents and in general, I'd say bolt pistols.
i will be playing 2000 point games against random races, (every single race) etc.
i have 3x10 grey hunters, and 2x10 blood claws. 2 pfs in each pack so which one, bp or bolter, is good for playing 2k pt games with each race?
As you also have 2 BC packs, I'd say give all GH packs bolters.
Against static armies (I mean those that do not outmanoeuver you) with weak standard troops (like IG and Tau), you might consider giving (a part of) the GH bp's. Because you can rely on getting in combat without too much trouble and your normal attacks do matter (against SM or Necrons a couple of normal attacks don't make such a difference, there you need the fists).
But in general I'd say give the GH bolters.
