Hey everyone! I'm just starting up a Flesh Tearers army and I know precious little about playing the Blood Angels and their successors.
So far, these are the models I've got available, although these can be added on to later.
About 25-30 Tactical Marines, some with heavy weapons like Lascannons and Missile Launchers, some with Meltaguns or flamers and 2 vet sarges with Powerfists
1 Chimera with 10 Inquisitorial Storm Troopers
7 Death Company Marines with Jump Packs
1 Chaplain with bolt pistol and jump pack
1 Furioso Deadnought
6 Terminators, 1 with Assault Cannon, 1 with heavy flamer, 3 with SB and PF 1 with SB and Power sword.
Techmarine with 2 heavy bolter servies and 2 combat servies
That's about it. Any sample army lists would be much appreciated (don't worry about restricting yourself to the models I've got above. I don't really mind buying more). Points wise, I mostly care for 1200 point lists because that's what people play around here, usually.
Thanks in advance, everyone!
Well you will need alot more assault troops.
Youll should atleast have one assault squad of 10 men with a vetran serg with powerfist, but it would be nice to have two.
Um scouts are pretty damn nice, its worth grabbing a squad of them.
Is there a reason why those stormtroopers are there?
Now, a Terminator unit in any Blood Angels army is risky, but in Flesh Tearers it's a damn sight more so. I'd hate to lose a 50-point model to the Black Rage. I'd much rather lose a 13-point model.
Heavy weapons: The Black Rage can be a problem here. It only happens rarely - well, more often with Tearers - but it can waste a turn of shooting. Keep that in mind.l
Furioso = good. Drop pod.
Scouts. Get some. They're useful. They infiltrate, have an extra attack, cost less and if you're playing Flesh Tearers, it's fluffy because they have the highest casualty rate of any Chapter. (They eat themselves, see.)
A Baal is a good choice, if you can get one. Up to 12 shots, with the pintle bolter. Nice. If you can't get that, try for an assault squad to back up the Chaplain.
Out of what you've got: Chaplain and DC, take them. Take the tactical squads as well, spread a few heavy weapons and put them in a shooty-backup role. If you want a tankbusting squad, get a 6-or-8-man squad, a meltagun and that Rhino. Although you'd be lucky to get it close enough. The Terminators - only if you need to fill out the points, or if you're playing 2000+ points. Put the Furioso in a drop pod and watch in amazement as your opponent fires everything he has at it to stop those claws from hitting the back of his tanks, thus allowing your Chaplain to advance unmolested.
Out of what you could have: Speeders are a good investment. A Baal, perhaps two if you're fighting a horde army. Assault squads. Scouts up the batty (as in a lot of them.)

As for the rest of your advice, thank you very much. This is quite helpful.
EDIT: Oh, by the way, the Storm Troopers are there because they're all I have left from another Space Marine army and I used em as allies. I figured I'd include them on the list, although I don't need to use em, of course.
