Is it possible for storm tropper grenadiers to include heavy weapons squads. I am trying to buils a all ST army and can't find if they can have them in the codex?
If this is a stupid question, sorry:cry:
"From this day to the ending of the world..InquisitorLordReiss
How many Inquisitors does it take to screw in a lightbulb? Three,
one to screw it in, one to outlaw lightbulbs, and one to deny lightbulbs ever existed.
We in it shall be remembered...
We band of brothers."
Don't worry to much about asking silly questions. I find the codexes to constantly stomp me. I blame GW for that.
As for your question... no. Storm Troopers and their Grenadier varient are "shock" troops. Elite troops that deliver devesating surgical strikes. Due to this nature it doesn't fit into their combat regieme to be bogged down by heavy weapons.

i once tried thinking of a way around this with keeping the armored infantry theme.
carapace armo on your command squad and either take carapaced veterans or heavy weapon squads, for your firepower needs.
a full squad of carapaced vets costs only 5 more points than a full squad of grenadiers, plus you still have all the extra options and an upgraded vet sgt.
Actually your question is a little unclear...
Stormtrooper squads, when taken as elites or through the grenadier option as troops, can not include heavy weapons.
If you want heavy weapons in an army with the grenadier doctrine that is fine, you can take the HS option or add heavy weapons to command squads or indeed any other squads that normally allow heavy weapons.
If you want to stay rather themed then take the carapace doctrine and take HW squads with carapace armour - making them the same save as stormies
Everything you have been told is a lie!
You could also combine sharpshooters with the carapace doctrine to help make the heavies more stormie-like.
I'm not familiar with the prices of these doctrines though... don't forget that the Guard are primarily a horde army, and it's our numbers that make us effective. Generally stormies are most effective when used in conjunction with normal guardsmen.
