i checked out those new black templar models, and they look awsome, makes me want to start on a black templars army. Though, i dont know a lot about them, are they a good choice? whats so great about their rules?? And are they better then dark angels?
they are different, much different, they are way better in assault, but not as good at shooting. Either army would look great with a mixture of Dark angle Clock models, and the BTs spures. Go to your local store and look over the New BT dex.
It really depends on YOUR style of playing. If u like blowing your enemy to smitherins then charging a Dark Angel army is the to go. If you want to get into hand to hand combat a Black Templar army is for u.
For The Emperor
And Lion El Johnson
well i better go with dark angels then, since they are wayyyyy cooler, plus new rules might be added in the new codex that comes out after tau...
do you thik BT sprues work great on DA?? because i already bought one..i like their running legs, comes with 4 i think. and the robes.
You'd best buy the Assault Marine box then, or the leg sprue, because it comes with 5 running legs instead of 4, and is cheaper than the Black Templar Crusader Squad box (I mean a normal Assault Squad. Not a Black Templar one).
I had a DA army and I just couldn't get into them. I have, in the last 3 weeks, purchased 2,000 points worth of Black Templars army and I am completely impressed with them. They have great special rules, such as the Emperor's Champion vows and quite a few others.Originally Posted by ForgedInTheFurnaceOfWar
As for them not being able to shoot as well as a Dark Angels army they are Space Marines and have the same WS and BS as every other Space Marine does. They don't have to be close combat oriented but they work well that way. Not everyone likes to get into hand to hand though. Some people just want to sit back on the other edge of the table and shoot long range weaponry. Pretty unskilled way to win if you ask me. You have to be prepared for every army you are going to play.
get the dex and read about the insanity of our zeal. we charge into combat to killlllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"be without fear in the face of your enemy, be brave and upright god may love thee, always speak the truth even if it leads to your death, and above all safe guard the helpless and do no wrong"
Geez calm down buddy....Originally Posted by Knight721

The black templar models are great and i have been tempted as well many times to create a BT army. But i don't really like there new rules. They are cool and all and are more of a balanced army now to what they were before which is good but i just dont fully dig 'em
Oh and yeah the new BT models would look great too induct into your army, especially dark Angels seeing as they are into the cloak and robes stuff as well.
