I was wondering how hard it would be to model a Grey Knight GM to have an Edward Elric-style wristblade for his Nemesis weapon. For those who don't know who Ed is, he's the main character in the anime series 'Full Metal Alchemist'. I found this pic (which I hope works) to give you an idea of how big it would be relative to the GM.
I had the idea of using a Sturn model and use the last inch or so of his sword and work it into the blade. Any sugestions on how I'd go about this?
Depending on good you are with the greenstuff it shouldn't be that hard. Both the Brother captain, and Stern come with the hand as a seperate peice. If you can model a hand and then add your wrist blade it should pretty easy, as for sizing it I think it would have to be about half the length of the Justicars sword, but much wider...would look pretty sweet on either of those models though.
Know where I can get greenstuff? I live in South-East Queensland, Australia if that's any help.
You can get the Green stuff Online... Like Ebay, I love Ebay.
btw, I think you should make Alfonz instead
What a good show..
You Can't Stop the Eighp
Had Tzeentch before I knew how to play :P
Thanks. Al'd probably work better in a Thousand Sons army than with the Grey Knights.
Greenstuff is just epoxy putty. You can pick it up for VERY cheap at any good hardware store - ask them where their glues and epoxies are, and it should be there. About $4 a tube, and a tube'll get you a LOT of epoxy (as opposed to GW's prices).
I'll have to remember that. Thanks.
Never thought of that. I was sort of intending on it being as close to flush with the arm as possible, so that it didn't look like a seperate piece of equipment, but as an extension of the armour itself. But that's a pretty good idea too, might actually use it. BTW, what are the weapons on a Sturn model made of? I know that the body'd be metal, but I'm not sure about the weaponry.
The model has a right hand that attaches at the wrist holding a sword slightly in front and pionting up, and a left arm that attaches at the shoulder same as any GK Terminator model. The left arm is a storm bolter pointed to the left, matching the direction Stern's head is facing.Originally Posted by ShadowFighter_15
Apropos of nothing, I replaced Stern's storm bolter arm with a terminator psycannon arm. I use Stern to represent a BC or GM with a psycannon, and I use the uber-cool GK "sergeant" model from the terminator box set to represent a BC or GM with a storm bolter.
