Seeeing as i have not played in ages and was interested in getting back I was wondering how the shooting works out for a grey knight hero equipped with a psycannon and his retinue of 3 terminators for example?

Umm, all the GK have the same BS except for a GM. You don't need to differentiate dice because of BS.
