Hi, I'm under the impression that if I want to use Carapace armor doctrine, technically I should have to somehow add more armor on the models somehow. Is this true, or can I just say "my guardsmen have carapace at 20pts per unit"? :o
Also when I first got my guardsmen and was putting them together, I added grenades on some of their belts, just for visual diversity, not knowing that they arn't all that effective with IG.. Does this mean I can't play these models as not having grenades? Thanks ^_^
1) I'm sure you could get away with the Carapace Armour issue, but I'd really recommend finding some way to model your pieces to represent it; layers of GS should do the trick.
2) You can play with them without grenades if you choose, that's perfectly legal.
Hmm...well for carapace armor you can use Green Stuff to model carapce armor on them, but I find that the average cadian's armor looks pretty carapace-like, so I guess you could use them as is.
And the grenades: Go ahead and put grenades on your guardsmen; no one will try to rat on you for it.
Anyone happen to have a link to a picture of what carapace should look like on IG? I'll probrably not bother in the long run since I have no skill or experience in converting Is this "green stuff" easy to use?
compared to other armies,
i thought cadians were already built with carapace...
flack jackets arn't that sturdy... at least not ones i recall..
and if you look at the other models, they have little more than cloth compared to cadians...
Pictures of the Smigs Army for your amusement....
Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.
"Crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of their women"
"JESUS SAVES! the rest of your models each take a wound."
If you think the Cadians are wearing carapace, how exactly would you classify the Kasrkin who actually have it? Power-armored?
"I would listen to Sokhar. The man's a genius. Listen."~Lord Yossanrion"Thanks, Sokhar. There was some legitimately good advice in between the low-grade profanity, blaspheming and veiled insults."~Quick"Well thought, intelligently put, with a hint of sarcastic bastard!"~Diggum's Hammer
So Kasrkin (StormTroopers are Kasrkin yes?) are in Carapace? So it's just pretty much flak armor that covers legs and wrists? Thanks I'll look into Green Stuff maybe
