how does a imperial guard infantry platoon work because i want to use the guards men as allies
You buy one Command Squad with a Junior Officer from the HQ section of the 'dex. You do have the 'dex, right? Then you buy 2-5 infantry squads, all of which counts as ONE troops slot. You can also include remnants squads who are missing some members and a heavy weapon. You can give the Command Squad a Chimera, not sure if you can give them a Razorback in a Deamonhunters army. I'm also not sure if you can take the advisors... Priests and Commisars would be great with your squad. These troops can also not be uprgraded with doctrines as the fact that they are allied with DH replaces doctrines.
What role do you want them to play in your army?

THANKS THAT HELPS ALOT BECAUSE I WAS GOING TO USE TWO TROOPS SECTIONS FROM THE IMPERIAL GURAD. AND I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND IT. THE REASON I USEING THE GUARDS AS ALLIES IS SO I CAN GET A LEMAN RUSS BATTLE TANK
yes the russ is great but you may be better off with a basilisk
Veni Vidi Variant
I came, I saw, I got a different type of Leman Russ.

Daemonhunters can take 2 Armored Fists as Guard Allies without the normal platoon requirement. That way you have fewer models in your goal of having a Battle Tank.
Daemonhunters can't take a Basilisk, I think. I'm pretty sure there is something in the Daemonhunters Codex preventing the use of a Basilisk.
Indeed, there's a specific list of the units you can add to a DH army as allies, and there is no mention there of a Basilisk. But a Leman Russ can indeed be added. Now that I know a bit about the fluff a Leman Russ doesn't seem all that fluffy for DH but I could be wrong, and I'm going to field one in my army anyway. Also, there are Rhinos (for stormtroopers or Inquisitors, not GKs), but no razorbacks. And Mike, just buy the IG codex. It's worth the cash even though the summary page is apparently a little screwy (take a look at the Hellhound thread on the IG board for more on that). That'll explain all you need to know about IG troops and their armoury (indicted IG still use their own armoury and NOT the Daemonhunters' one, just so you know).
