I wanted to know what are some space marine units against Dark Eldar because I verse my brother alot and he plays Dark Eldar. I have a Ultramarines army.
what squads does he use that way we can tell you how to counter each and every one
my brother has:
A Archon/Dracon with a agonizer and splinter pistol
A retuine of 5-10 incubi in a raider with a dark lance
2 10 man dark eldar warrior squads with dark lances
and he has a raider still in the box and I think he is going to get some winches
Well the archon and incubi will end up in a raider. Shoot it down right away. the wyches will also probably get a raider. Shoot it too. once they are out of the raider shoot them. If you do nothing else kill these units before shooting anything else
I havent played against DE alot, but i do know they have bad armour saves

Take life seriously, its lethal.
DE only have a 5+ save. this means even your bolter rip through his squads. against DE donĀ“t use tanks unless you use the whirlwind.
Shoot everything at his wyches and archon. then his talons.
I advise that your whirlwind shoots at the normal squads because these can easily kill a space marines with there dark lances.
be aware when he learns the Web gate portal tactic because this means he can advance and open his portal. If I remember correctly they can charge the same turn they arrive and this is very nasty meaning he only has 3 warrior squads on the table and the rest is coming through the portal.
And never let his archon get in CC because you will lose your marines very quickly.

I wouldnt bother bringing Lascannons against DE.
Basically all you need is as many HB's AC's and bolters you can fit it.
LST's work wonders on DE. The DE base weapon cant hurt the speeder, nor can their base attacks (or agonisers for that matter). And they shred through DE like you wouldnt believe. A 3x lst squad will annihilate a DE squad per turn with little fear of being huhrt in return.
Heavy bolter tactical squads. Use the HB's to down the raiders. Once they are destroyed, your bolters can make mince meat of the squads inside.
A single 4x HB dev squad will keep all DE away from your lines, and so is a good idea to bring.
A whirlwind wouldnt huhrt either. Especially if you have a nice piece of terrain to hide it behind.
Mentor of Space Marine Commanders far and wide.
Efficiency VS Point Cost VS Ease Of Use - Your best bets:
1) Chaplain led Assault squad - 2 plasma pistols, powerfisted sergeant
2) 8 man Devastator squad - 4 missile launchers
3) Land Speeder Tornado - HB + AC
