I have a few questions about the hellhound. I have no idea what its like in battle, never seen one.
The inferno cannon, how does that work? Is it that you can place the flame template anywhere once its within 24", even if its side ways?
Is the Hellhoung a fast vehicle? Its in the fast attack so i presumed so. Or is it just normal tank that can move only 12"?
BTW, how effective is it? Is it worth the points and when and how would you use it?
Oooh, fire! Very effective against other guard, Tyranids, Eldar, Dark Eldar, Orks...Okay on Marines. Most effective against horde formations. The template can be turned anyway you want it, so long as it is covering the most models possible and the entire template is within 24". Yes its fast attack.
How many guardsmen does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
None, their lasguns work fine.
No, what I was asking was is it a fast vehicle? I know its counted as fast attack but does that mean it can move over 12"?
A hellhound is NOT a fast vehicle.
If you're ever in doubt, look under the "Type:" entry in the codex, you'll see the hellhound is "just" a tank.
hey i think they are worht the points i have 2 and they do only move 12 in
Hellhounds... mmm..... ok, I'll sum it up, in my humble opinion.... If I could put them in my Dark Angels army, as heavy supports, my junk yard is going to be filling up with predators pretty fast.

Pssst.... give me kudos....
Hellhounds can move 12, but its best to just keep them moving 6" every turn. A Hellhound can move six inches without sacrificing any of its firepower, so they're very good for mobile counter-attack in Guard lists.

this is correct it is good to make them move only 6in so they can still use there inferno cannons..Originally Posted by Sokhar
Ah but what if, even if you move 6" theres no one around, wouldn't you just move 12"? Makes sense to me.
If you are out of range of the Inferno Cannon, my suggestion is to move 12" behind cover or blow smoke. The you are in range of the enemy, and you can move 6" to a good fire sport, and "FLAME ON!!".Originally Posted by IbramGaunt
Tip: I always shoot the Inferno Cannon first, then let the HB and Stubber kill the leftovers.
