    Advice/thoughts on sergeants?

I wondered what people thought was the best equipment for sergeants in tactical and scout squads.

Logically I assume it would be the same as the rest of the squad, but is it "fluffier" or worthwhile to give them BP & CCW even in a bolter armed tac squad?

(I'm talking "ordinary" sergeants here, not ones with Term Hons)

    ?

Only an idiot fights a war on two fronts. Only the heir to the throne of the kingdom of idiots would fight a war on twelve fronts.

The general consensus on here is to give him a power fist but that would mean giving him honours.
Personally I'd always give my sergeant a bolt pistol and chainsword mainly to make him stand out more. And if you read any stories about sergeants, whatever heroic act they've performed usually involves close combat so it's in keeping with fluff.
I can't say I've seen it all but I live for the things that keep me hollow.

For my power armored sergeants i like to equip them up with a bolt pistol and have them weilding a big fat powerfist to do some major clobbering.
For scouts it is the same lol! I give it to my scout squad to turn them into a pretty damn nasty combat unit.

You know the old Catachan IG Captain? Little body, huge fist? Would he make an acceptable scout sergeant do you think? You can't get a 'genuine' scout model with a PF.

Well you would only use his powerfist and glue it onto a scout sergeant.Yeah that is the best way to do it.Thats how i plan to do mine one day when i get around to it.

I would give him a power fist because most of the times you get in CC somehow and a PF is really nasty.

Id say it would be unfluffy not to give him a bolter, your sgt should be the best man in the squad, at what ever the squad is doing, so if its a shooty bolter squad, give him bolter, maybe a scope, ect.

I usually field 5-6 man shooty squads and an extra bolter is much more useful than a pistol and chainsword.
Then again I've had opponents just assume that my sgt models with BP and Chainsword were actually proxies for vet sgt w. PF or PW and it affected thier tactics somewhat.

I just took a standard scout that had bp/ccw, cut off the ccw arm at the shoulder pad. Then I took a plastic marine pfist arm, cut the shoulder off, trimmed them both a bit to make sure they fit well, then glued it on. Voila. Scout SGT with pfist!
