I want to build a squad of veterans for my space marine army. I am planning on a squad of 10. My question is should I use a missle launcher or something else as my heavy choice? My second question is should I use a Melta gun or flamer as my assult weapon choice with this squad/
Any help would be appreciated.
By the way I have my own codex chapter Space Marine army so I can not take the new veterans of the Tranic war.
If you want a heavy weapon, you should go with the cheap Heavy bolter to add some extra punch and make the squad more versitale. But usually I wouldn't bother, since you can use heavy weapons on non-veteran squads with the same results (except if you really need the tank hunter skill). Veteran squads are best in close combat and should be used there. If I were to use one, I'd give them infiltrate, a vet. sarge with power fist, another powerfist and a Melta gun. Then I'd give half of them bolters and the other half bolt pistol and close combat weapons. This way they will be able to deal with anything, from tanks, big monsters and infantry while "behind enemy lines". Not very effective maybe, but really cool.

to be honest veterans are a unit designed to do things that other units cant do...so why arm them like any other unit?
arm them specifically based on the veteran skill you give them. Furious charge...bp + ccw for a rock hard assault unit
tank hunters...lascannon and melta gun
infiltrate...a fine range of close up firepower like plasma guns, and flamers...
its up to you in the end, but i suggest you tailor them to suit theirs skills so they become what they were designed to be...
Never judge someone until you've walked a mile in their shoes...by that time they'll be a mile away, and have no shoes
as carnage said - veterans are made specialists by the skill, dont go for bland equipment in this expensive squad, equip them to purpose
Everything you have been told is a lie!
