My buddy tells me the Emperor had a personal army, what happen to them? Did that get written out by GW as well?
Technically the personal army of the emporer is the custodian guard. There aren't any lists/rules for them to my knowledge.
If you want to know what they look like head to the US GW site, someone as made some on there.
(If you really wanted to you could build the custodian guard and use the grey knights rules)
Here's Dave Taylor's Adeptus Custodes army. I looks VERY nice.
They were the Emperor's bodyguard during the crusade and haven't been doing much since his ascendance into the golden throne. they still guard him. More recently they intervened during the age of apostsy (I think it was) and brought the leader of the daughters of the Emperor (later renamed the sisters of battle) to the throne, which caused them to stop supporting the High Lord Goge Vandire who had taken over the imperium. They did not take part directly in the battles though.
well, technically the Space Marines are the Emperor's chosen, i mean, theres that little quote near the front of the rulebook ("They shal be my finest warriors...") and during the Great Crusade he fought alongside them, mostly the DA. The Custodes are his bodyguards and all, i mean, "custodes" roughly means to protect. And if you want to nitpick, ALL Imperium armies are the Emperor's, but i wont. in conclusion, they're both "His" armies, dont argue
This night is wild, so cold and dull, these hearts they race from self control
Carpe Noctem (because Diem is too bright)
Blood Angels Wins:6-Draws:0-Losses:5...apparently i'm doing decently for a guy who randomly charges into certain oblivion
Meh, they are okay but the some of the helmets are ridiculous and odd.
Yes, during the Great cursades it was the DA that where the body gaurd of the emperor, in the biggingin, untill most of the primarchs where found, after the hersy however, no space marine legion would ever have the sole right of protecting the emperor, so, it was 2 be that 3 chapters would protect his now dying body. The first line being the Imperia fists, who gaurd earth and the rest of the solor system, including the halo stars. Then upon the moon of Titan rests the grey knights, they where created from the very flesh of the emperor, and are the elite of the elite. Finally, his last line of the defense, the custodains, it is there sole right to look upon the emperor, to maintain his golden throne, and protect him above all else. No other men in all of the emperium has such a right. How and from where the custodain recruit and train, what tactics, there numbers, and there history of battle is all but the of the highest secret, and only members of there order would be able to guess at the exact figures, not even the high lords of holy terra are privey to such knowledge.
Does that answer your question?
about all we know of the custodian guard, apart from the few battles they have fought in, is they are rock hard
stronger and more skilled than a space marine, and completely uncorruptable.
Never judge someone until you've walked a mile in their shoes...by that time they'll be a mile away, and have no shoes
If you were thinking of creating a custoide army use dh list, also the custode are belived to be crafted from the emperors own skin, no one knows for sure. Yes there helmets may look kinda dum but they can kick your ass in them. Dave Taylor made some wicked cool custodes as posted earlier.
To do the bidding of the god of decay death and corruption is to be rid of all things that makes you weak only in return for the control of your soul!
I read about them and it sounds as if there better than grey knights!!! Is any going to be doing any rules?
