I was just wondering if anyone had good SW tactics.i am fairly new to them and tend
to just charge in rhinos and slaughter in the Assualt phase,or my tanks get blown up and
my men get shot down.
P.s. Ive just started a space wolve clan in the Clans and clubs Section.
Some time ago there was a topic about a Space Wolves clan. There were many good reactions, but in the end it wasn't launched.
Especially counting the large amount of SW topics those last weeks I'm glad hte clan is started.
But what is the name and who'll lead the Clan?
I hope other players who replied so positively last time will also step forth now.
I'll join, but not as leader (i'm a better follower).
As for the original point, rhinos need to hug cover like nothing else. Long fangs should be set uo in cover if possible. I equip my long fangs with 2 heavy bolters and 2 missile launchers to make the most of fire control.
Blood claws shouls always have a wolf guard with them to keep them under control (plenty of power weapons and powerfists are what they need).
Any hq should either have its own body guard of join a BC pack.
Grey hunters should be kept fairly cheap as its their job to hold the middle ground.
Make the BC pack 8 strong (so you can add a wolf guard, then attach any HQ).
Wolf scouts aren't bad but are a bit expensive, use them for tank hunting (giving them meltabombs) so tanks hiding in your opponents deployment zone have something to fear.
A ven. dreadnaught is practically a must.
Hope this helps.
I can't find the original topic anwmore. But I believe it was an idea of Bonjordo or Wulfbanes. They should know.
I suggest we wait 'till the Wolf players come sipping in and talk over name, leader etc. Personally I'd prefer a fancy special name instead of just Space Wolves. I particularly love the term "Sons of Russ". I hope you all like it...
Sons of Russ is brilliant, no question, we must call ourselves *adopts deep heroic voice* The sons of Russ!
Sounds good, I'd be willing to join up. I know a few people who would make good leaders (though I can't remember their names right now).
As for Tactics... Well I don't have that much real experience, but I've found Wolf scouts can be usefull for tying up or even destroying devastators and the like and keep the heavy weapons off my back until I can run them over with the charging mob of blood claws.
