Welcome to Librarium Online!
I'm pretty sure I know the answer but I'll ask anyways. Can a Veteran Sister Superior take two bolt pistols and use them like the Seraphim?
As an aside, does anyone think it would increase the 'desireability' of Celestian if they could take two bolt pistols a la Seraphim?

Of all Veteran Superiors, only the Seraphim Veteran Superior can use 2 bolt pistols twin linked. All the others haven't had Seraphim training.
And over there we have the labyrinth guards.
One always lies, one always tells the truth, and one stabs people who ask tricky questions.
Yup, not twin-linked. Just gives an extra CC attack, and an unusual model opportinity.
I think it would help the Celestians, yes. Even if not twin-linked, the option would grant them an extra CC attack, and they've got the best CC stats and rules of any non-crazed unit in the army. It'd be nice if they had the option of bolter or bolt-pistol and close combat weapon like the marines do. Or at least an option to cheaply upgrade the entire squad with sarrisas. That would be nice, and fluffy to boot.
Yeah, I was thinking that as the "elite" sisters, the Celestians would (or as the case is now, should) have been trained in all roles that the sisters might need to fill... The extra attack would be incredibly handy.
I don;t think theirs anything stopping you for buying two pistols anyway and shooting them both during the shooting phase, but even as i type this it does sound abit wrong, so don;t take my word for it, just something for you to look up and check for yourself.
you can not shoot 2 weapons in the shooting phase, exceptions exist as special rules
Everything you have been told is a lie!
... Plus the Wargear section says that you can't buy the same item twice for one model.
However, any VSS who takes her free bolt pistol should be OK to buy another bolt pistol from the armory, because she is not buying it twice from the armory. I think the wording allows that, but that will need to be double-checked.
As such, I personally would not object to someone using them as twin-linked, as that seeems to be the universal effect of having twin guns. If someone opposed it, I would readily concede. I don't see it as abusive, though. I recall the 3rd Ed codex picturing sisters on foot (with no jump packs) with bolt pistols in each hand. It is not an outlandish thing to imagine for an army whose troops are weak in CC, and have no ranged choices in their troops choices.
Personally, I think the Celestian VSS should use an Eviscerator and free B Pist.

A Seraphim VSS keeps her TL Bolt Pistols until you buy her new gear.
You if you had a VSS and you wanted her to have a Power Weapon and a Bolt Pistol, you'd only have to pay for the Power weapon, as the second pistol is given up for the Power Weapon.
But there is no Seraphim VSS model with Twin Linked Pistols (or any sort of two pistols for that matter). Strange. Wording here seems different from other SS setups. However you are right - it seems that Seraphim SS comes with same gear as any Seraphim, and then when upgraded to VSS can get something from the armoury. Like a Storm Bolter or a Eviscerator
