yea as the name says i could use a hand makin a deathwing 2000 pt list
i havent gottin any modles for it yet so any thing is open  any model thats deathwing
First thing, do u want any vehicles at all? DW is perfectly playable without vehicles, so better decide quick. I personally like all troops DW, but that's just me.
Well we all know that Terminators kick the butts of just about any other unit in 40k 1-on-1, so get as many models as possible...i'd like nothing less than 30. 40 if possible...
Then u gotta take some care of ur heavy weapons...ACs and MLs have to have good balance. Don't forget the 48" MLs just because the ACs are awesome...they'll be useless if they're out of range.
OK firstly there is a temptation with DW to go for Land raiders, IMHO avoid it.
Basic core to DW is 5 strong termie squads with 2xAC. It used to be cyclones but AC firepower improvements vastly changed this.
You need ranged fire power too, so dreads, commonly 2 by the time you are at 1500 points, tend to feature, classicaly these will have las cannon and ML.
Finally A HQ, sure a chaplain with an assault squad in an LRC looks tasty but it will only work about 1/10 of the time, go with either a master or a libby (clearly from my Avatar I prefer the libby), what you have then is in 1000 points:
2 squads W assault cannons
in 1500 points, 2 more squads W assault cannons.
you simply walk up the fiedl taking out armour with the dreads and everything within 24 inches gets shot to shreds
Everything you have been told is a lie!
these are some good ideas
A more flexible (and more expensive) option is to take one less dreadnought, and go with a squad of terminators with cyclone missile launchers and the tank hunter skill. They tend to not do so well as the dreadnought, but they draw huge amounts of fire, and the odd tank they do take out is better for you.
The advantage of this is that your dread(s ) survive longer, because it takes quite a long time to take out 5 or 6 terminators.
"I have died a thousand deaths, and I will die a million more..."
4 terminator squads. Kit 2 with assault cannons and 2 with cyclones. Deep strike the assault cannons and give tank hunters to the cyclones.
A librarian with fear of the darkness with a command squad. Deep strike it.
Maybe a dreadnought. Either deep strike it with an assault cannon or give it ML and TLLC with tank hunters.
