I am sure no one would mind.

"It fits like clothes made out of wasps!"
Inkie, I can't get over your avatar. I'm not sure why, but I find it so damn funny!
Anyway, as long as you have fluff to explain it off it will be fine, I wouldn't mind. Also, if they have a similar color scheme it would make them look much more uniform.

There's absolutely no reason to NOT mix squads. Do it with style and it will be appreciated by your opponents alot more than if you just had a boring "all plastic cadians" army.
I myself have a Mordian core (HQ, support squads, 1 platoon) and then a Cadian platoon with a metal CS, one metal squad and some plastic squads. I've also got 40 unassembled plastic cadians to use as conscripts and HW conversion crews.
My open topped sentinels are piloted by Cadians made from com-link heads and cadian shoulder pads on the original driver body + arms.
If everything is painted in the same colour scheme it will look most excellent mixing uniforms like that. That's what makes it look coherent, not the uniforms of the models.
