I read the thread about viable tank busting and it got me thinking about my normal tank busting stratagy. I normally use a dred, some melta stormies in a rhino, and a chimera (with plasma stormies). Now on to the topic--Is it more bang for my buck to take two armored fists squads than to take the melta stormies (and really everything else). If I take two armored fists I can put down two lascannons which can shoot way before the stormies can, and I get two chimeras to take down transports, KillerKans, and Dreds if need be (and it allows me to take the Leman Russ battle tank which seem pretty fun). What do you guys think about dropping stormies and picking up armored fists? (I would also probably stop bringing dreds or aleast Lascannon/ML dreds)
Well in my experiece with using traitors, BS3 doesnt hit often. So If you are going to bring Lascannons probably a platoon would be better basically trading in the chimeras for Lascannons.
Personally, if you're fielding guard, I'd use autocannons or missile launchers rather than lascannons.
Lascannons vs Krak Missile = 1 extra point of strength and AP2 instead of AP3 for 10 extra points. Considering each will only hit 50 percent of the time, I think that's a bad deal.
Lascannons vs Autocannons = 2 extra points of strength and considerably more AP, but the autocannon gets an extra shot. This is great, because it means you're statistically likely to score at least 1 hit. Okay, you won't be popping land raiders any time soon, but a lascannon isn't going to do much either if it can't hit anything. Again, 10 points difference.
Personally, I'd take an autocannon for light vehicles and a missile launcher for tankbusting, and field a regular infantry platoon to get the maximum number of heavy weapons in play.

 I really like inducted IG with Lascannons, but your probably better with Platoons instead of Armoured fist squads, unless you have a Landraider in your army. You can overcome the bad bs of IG with more Lascannons. I only equip my IG squads with a Lascannon, Plasma Gun and a Vet Sgt. The extra AP and strenght of the Lascannon makes it well worth it compared to other HWs, plus your Grey Knights take care of troops, let your IG take care of Armour and Monstrous Creatures.
Remember, you still need two Deamonhunter Troop choices before you can take IG.
And yes, a Leman Russ is a very nice tank to take!
