Mind your blood pressure my friend. And your language too for that matter. Noone likes being called stupid, and nothing in Cypher_Killz's post is stupid.
My first instinct was to neg. rep you, but I did not since I might just miss some subtle joke and be unfair to you.
Enough about that. To answer the original poster I think a standard tactical squad with missile launcher and powerfist armed sarge needs to be mentioned. A supreemely dependable and versatile unit that is, and should be, the core of most marine armies.

Neither, the most point earning squad is a normal tactical squad, for 15 points you get all those nice stats and a HIGH 3+ save. Chaplain is the most point earning squad (with assault marines) but as soon as stuck in open ground with 20 crons' looking glaringly at them with green eyes there screwed.
peiople underestimate space marines capabilities; Look at that stat5s and compare to others, you might.....just might see how good the marines are, and although they are expensive i would probably buy them if thet where 20 points. Seriously
marines-eldar, marines win vs points and strenth of eldar
marines vs crons' LOL marines beat em all the time
marines vs nids' Hmm we can safely say that marines were unitentioanlly designed to figth em
marines vs orks DAMN!
i could go on throughout all armies
The marines squad is CC hardy, shoot proofed, quick, and T and S of some other armies H/Q's the ultimate combat unit for all games
The commandments of the space marines
1) thou shalt not put a 'honk if u think im sexy sticker on the sisters rhino
2)C-3P0 is NOT a necron ambasador
3) thou shalt not ask a banshee, to karaoke
4)thou shalt not ask the inquisition to bring down the exterminatus on you ex-wife
The Dreadnought, lots of weapon combinations, Harsh in close combat. Incredibly fluffy (so long as you don't take 6).
Every time you read this sig: a fairie dies!
lol, well Eldar are more than capable of totally wiping a Space Marine army off of the table. Starcannons are in general the most annoying gun on the planet for me to face. I hate those damn things, as they cut through my armor with ease.Originally Posted by CaptShrike
Necrons and Space Marines are usually fairly interesting affairs, considering both sides have very resilient troops, with high T scores and good armor saves.
I don't know how you figure that Space Marines were built to kill Tyranids, but that's your opinion. I know that I've seen Tyranids walk all over Space Marine armies many times in the past, and vice-versa. It all comes down to the players involved, army composition, scenerio, tactics and luck, really. The same applies to Orks, and any army, really.
I can see that no one has mentioned the ever popular Land Speeder Tornado, so I'll take the time to do so. These things are great, with their fast movement, good weapons and low points cost. Surely one of the best choices in the army.
Sounds intriguing. Do you take a special weapon in your tactical squad that has a ML and a PF? This looks quite cost effective.Originally Posted by Arizzar
You're not enhanced, so you can't neg rep iirc and unless Plague's grammar has died he was using stupid as an adjective for smurfs, not insulting CypherOriginally Posted by Arizzar
Anyway, to answer the original question, I still like the LS with AC combo, though the 5 man anti tank tactical squad is good as well. Although the vindicator often doesn't make its points back, I like it just for the fear factor
EDIT:Just thought I'd comment on this too. I can only assume you've never played against an eldar starcannon build. I don't care how good you are, a SM army WILL struggle against mass starcannonsOriginally Posted by CaptShrike
i personally like the pred outfitted with TL lascannon and heavy bolters. Its cheapish and has a good deal of firepower. Other favorites are the assault squad and tacticals, esp tacticals I just love rolling dice^_^
And I'd just like to point out SMs are not flawless by any means. Enough shots will bypass even their so called "invinceble armor" and there are so many ap 3/2 weapons out there that there really is no point in complaining. So jus quite whinning, learn how to play, and you'll find that killing marines is as easy as killing any other army.
