I just went over the Codex, and I'm wondering if Apothecaries have any attacks? Do the Narthecium and Reductor do anything or are they there just to heal and remove geneseed from the fallen?
Given that there's nothing to the contrary, I'd say he gets the 1 attack that any member of a Command squad gets as basic. The Narthecium/Reductor combo doesn't change his stats, as they're not listed as weapons?
Rocket launchers rock
Missile launchers miss
Yes they get attacks. They are Space Marines first, and Apothecaries second. All the pictures I see of Apoth's and my own model, show him with a chainsword. The way I play him is he has no ranged attack but has a close combat attack (two if you give the whole unit Term Honors).
Once a Marine, always a Marine.
The Apothecary is just like any other marine in the command squad. If you leave him with the bolter that he comes with, then he gets 1 attack (2 on the charge ((providing he didn't shoot that turn)). If you exchange his bolter for a bolt pistol and CCW then he gets 2 attacks (3 on the charge). His Narthecium and Reductor are just wargear that he can use whenever the situation allows (not locked in close combat, etc., etc.). Very similar to your Veteran Sergeant with an Auspex - it looks cool to have the model with Auspex in hand watching the little green blips approaching, but it doesn't interfere with his standard weaponry.Originally Posted by slamfu
