In the Space Marine Codex I noticed that in the chapter table, a few of the chapter entries are missing. Does anyone know who and what they are?
This question has been asked many times and yet has never been answered.
GW has never released any information about the missing chapters. They are there so you can make your own chapter up (where would be the fun if every chapter was documented?).
I blieve the space marine codex doesnt show them all. I think there is something like 18 known chapters, and only 2 missing, but im not sure about that, almost every chapter was given an elaberate background in second edition, with a lot more information then just the army list.
How ever, GW is getting away from the primachs, they have been trying to get away from them for quite some time.
Anyway, do some google sreaches if you want to find out more about back stories, they are published in quite a few different places. peace
Yeah, that's a tool writers use to leave things open for the future. They could just drop in new stuff whenever they so desire...
like a female space marine chapter
speaking of such, are there no female space marines?
No there are no female space marines. The gene seed is suited only to males, this has something to do with all the genetic change being on the male "Y" chromosome. This is also why space marines cannot reproduce nromally (wonderful way of controllig them huh?) There is a wonderfully good explaination of all this stuff in Index Astartes Vol. 1 if you're interested.
Having said that, I heard some conflicting fluff that was that White scars marines when not on campaign, are at home farming and raising a family. Surely this must be wrong, but its a nice idea.
as has been said there are no female marines, as it just cant work genetically.
the two chapters that are missing are just missing...no one but whoever wrote it like that knows why...
rumours persist that whoever made those chapters left GW and took the rights to those chapters with him (hence they are so concerned with copywrite these days). Others say that they were destroyed by the inquisition. I think they are just the vital ingredient to a good story...the enigma
just dont create a chapter and say its one of those chapters...that aint what they're there for
Never judge someone until you've walked a mile in their shoes...by that time they'll be a mile away, and have no shoes
