OK all you daemonhunters, do you think Brother-Captain Stern is worth the points cost for what you get ? Or would a grand master be a better choice. Also, do you use the Stern model for a grand master (since there is no GM model) ?
I'd probably just paint the GM really nicely instead of stern... but he is, errr, well I think its worth the points.
He is almost just like the GM execpt for regular GM can take more equipment if they wanted too. I would personnally take GM
what other equipment would you take then?
I use the Bro-Cap Stern as a GK Grandmaster. I would use him normally, but my army is mostly fluff based.
Henceforth no man shall set foot upon the world, and all around shall be set sentinals to ward away unwary spacecraft. We must accept that this place is lost to us forever, and is now the eternal habitation of abomination.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'>another annoying thing i hate: 47,000 similies in one post. just thoght id throw that in there and see if anybody else hates it as much as i do.</div>
stern is a sweet model
use stern if you face daemons as he has grimoire of true names and two psychic powers (which a grandmaster cant have he can only have 1) plus the other rules for him and you can get him a retinue and you get him all for 145pts, a bargain!
realize that stern has less wounds and attacks from a normal grandmaster also.....also realize you can field stern and a gk hero.....im not sure i would use him though....
I think the main advantage to stern is not that you can take another gm with him (unless maybe its a real big game) but that he is quite powerful for his point cost. Ok, he has one less attack and wound then a gm, but he is signifigantly cheaper than a basic gm (with no equipment). If you were to equip a gm similarly you would probly be 40 or 50 points over stern, if not more (im too lazy to figure it out). I'd rather save the points than gain an attack and a wound personally. Plus, you get the re-roll rule which can be a life saver (oops, you just failed your armor save on your last wound... reroll!.
i know this isnt related to question, but is there going to be a model for GK grandmaster?
