Now befor anybody yells about using the search function, I've looked over the 25+ pages and dont see an answer.
Question 1, what bit are you guy's using for the conversion. I dont want to use the standard power armor bit, IMO its just awkward looking. I was thinking the bit for the Catachans Lt but thats all metal as far as I can tell. Anybody got some input?
Question 2, has anyone used the hidden powerfist on their scouts and how effective was it?
breath, sight, squeeze.
now double tap just for grins
and Another One bite's the dust.
A bolter round for all that oppose the Emperor.
I used the catachan one and it looks good.. The arm is a little too long, but not too much.. It was really easy to convert too, just cut the arms of both models, do alittle filing on the pfist, glue it on and fill in the gap with greenstuff..
I've used him with various results, sometimes my scouts get all shot up when they advance and sometimes the opponent overlooks the scouts, just to get a nasty surprise when they assault..
I use the powerarmor bit but it doesn't look that bad.
As far as effective...Very! I once routed a 12 man ork mob with a 6 man
scout squad. My scout squad was killed off down to the sergeant and when
he got his attacks all of them hit and killed orks, causing the orks to fallback.
And the sergeant chased them all down and the rest is history.
So from that moment on I've always included the "hiddenfist" in my scout
I've used the fist from an assault sergant, cut it off right at the elbow. it looks really good, like he's raising his fist in defiance or about to smash something.
W/D/L Eleventy trillion billion/NONE/ NONE - I am STILL rulezor!
WINDMILLS DO NOT WORK THAT WAY!
Imperial Guard Power Fists are the way to go. Any of them will do. Preferably plastic.
I am in the middle of making one from a 2nd ed powerfist and a plastic scout. Pics one day...
I found a powersword worked really well, so I expect a power fist might be better still, especially since it would be not as easy to spot. Heh heh heh... go on, walk that dread past me...
Beware the Agapanthers!
Codex Astartes: More a guideline than a rule...
I used the Powerfist from the Marine Commander Sprue (with Eagle on it) and painted it to look ornate. After all, the Sgt has Terminator Honours in order to get it so it would be a treasured item no doubt! I just filed the shoulder down and glued the loose Scout carapace armour (I think its for the HB Scout) over the top
