In your opinion, what would be better to have mounted on a vehicle, the Storm Bolter or Heavy Stubber?

heavy stubber, the chance of doing damage is increased by 50%
Everything you have been told is a lie!
I thought it would be more like an 33% increase.
Anyway, hvy stubber more range and more shots . Not to mention the hvy stubber looks cooler on your chimera than storm bolter on it.
Yeh a heavy stubber every time. Though I never use the one in the kit as its meant to be used. They break off real easy. Instead, I mount it alongside the main gun as a co-axial weapon. Rules wise thats OK, and your vehicles aren't so delicate.
On a side note, I think that the heavy stubber would make an ideal infantry heavy weapon. Its cheaper, and it doesent go against the fluff, like scores of squaddies wielding ancient and revered bolter tech does.
unless you are facing someone with alot of 5+ armour (hmm, I wonder who that could be... maybe... IG?) then take the stubber. 1 more shot, 12" more range, and only 2 points and ap6 are the worse parts. So really, unless you are facing another IG army or anything with 5+ saves, get the stubber.
The big points have been covered already. I vehicles generally include three upgrades (Increased Armor, Smoke, Heavy Stubber). So all of my tanks and chimeras get 9 shots while they move and shoot. The infantry do the anti-tank work in two mech platoons (cmd squad HB, flamer, melta, 2 x squads LC + Melta). Sure the melta's are shorter ranged than the plasma guns but I wanted to be different. So I rely on my vehicles to act like a heavy weapons section and bring out the smack down with 9 shots each of higher S attacks.
