If I take a Death Company Chaplain in Terminator Armor and don't give the squad jump packs or a dedicated transport can I buy a LR or LRC and mount them in it at the beginning of the game? I ask because the LR/LRC entries state they hold XX marines in power armor OR XX marines in terminator armor, but not how to transport a mixed unit.
If so could I also attach a Techmarine in a servo-harness to the unit prior to the game as well and mount it in the same LR/LRC? Also as the Techmarine is an independent character can he leave the unit and disembark himself to make any necessary repairs?
Thanks in advance
I don't know the particulars about joining characters into the DC, however in a Q&A somewhere it has been written that 1 terminator armour = 2 power armours, so you'd be able to fit the chaplain and 8 marines in a LR or the chaplain and 13 marines in the LRC.
Thanks, and I answered my other questions by a closer examination of the the BA Codex and BGB:
- Only Chaplains and High Priests may lead/join/attach to DC
- The Techmarine, as an IC, can leave the vehicle without forcing everyone else to disembark
So this is a viable strategy for a Librarian/Commander/High Priest with Honor Guard, but not a Chaplain and DC (although they can still use the LR/LRC).
If I remember you can only have Jump packs or a Rhino for the DC. No Razorbacks or LR allowed.
Just one of those BA drawbacks I'm afraid.
I suggest Jump packs as the DC rolling can easily take you past 10 with a DC Chaplain. My last game as BA I had a DC of 14 and a Rhino, so I had to lose 5 marines!!!!!!!!!

Were you to not take a dedicated transport for DC, and take the LR/LRC as a heavy choice you could load the DC into it and run it that way. But talk about painting a huge target onto it. Just tell me that your loading DC into a LR/LRC and watch every anti tank unit target it hoping to get a penetrating 6.
