Welcome to Librarium Online!
I'm new to 40k but play fantasy so please bear with my possibly silly question;
Is it possible to make a solely Terminator troop army? I Love the Terminator models but don't really like normal SM ones. :/
Ideally i'd prefer to play all Terminators and a couple dreads
I've asked a round a little and the only related response I've recieved thus far was a reference to Imperial Fists i believe it was, where due to their HQ ( Lysander? ) they can have mostly terminators that he can 'teleport' into battle?
ANy info is much appreciated.
Well you just perfectly described Deathwing. It's the first company of Dark Angel's Chapter. Except you wont be able to take Lysander. But you can easily make beefy terminator commanders/chaplins/librarians with cool wargear.
Basicly the Deathwing is Terminators, Drednoughts, and Land Raiders. :w00t:
Deathwing are bone coloured.
If you don't like Dark Angels or bone coloured paint for and reason then simply make your own army/scheme. Except you HAVE TO use their rules. :yes:
Good luck and i hope i helped.
EDIT: There is no such thing as silly questions, your only silly if you don't learn from the awnser to your question
Welcome to the dark future of 40K.
They are called DeathWing. They are an off shoot of DarkAngels and are really hard to play as far as I have heard.
I am sure others know more. And you can Search DeathWing.

Yes you can have a full terminator army. It's the dark angels first company the deathwing. They are bone coloured unlike the rest of the dark angels. If you don't like bone you can always use a successor chapter and/or invent your owncolour scheme and chapter name using normal marine models but you have to stick to the deathwings rules. I don't think there is a way for a normal marine chapter using the rules from the standard codex alone to have it's units comprised only of terminators. You could have an army including alot of terminators just not terminators and nothing else unless it's deathwing.
As has been said, Deathwing is what you want.
Remember that GW fully supports 'counts as' armies. That is, you can use the rules set from one army (the whole rules set, with no additions or subtractions) with different models than it's supposed to include.
So, if you want, you can play an army of Terminators in any colour scheme, really, using the Deathwing rules.
a point about deathwing and dark angles. the codex they have now is really old and weird. they should get a new one kind of soon.
Take life seriously, its lethal.
As already stated;
The only all-terminator army out there is called the Dark-Angels Deathwing. They are a select force of soldiers who know about the dark past of the Dark-Angels, and they have banded together in one company. They have sworn to only fight in terminator armour, and thus they go to battle, often supported by dreadnoughts and land-raiders, or as part of another battle company.
I play them myself; and despite what everybody sais, it's not that hard. YOu just have to remember their strengths and flaws, and use cover the way it should be used.
Their rules can be found in the Codex: Dark-Angels (which you'll have to buy in addition to the Codex: Space-Marines), and you'll have to download the FAQ: Dark-Angels v. 3.0.1. Lots of stuff for a little bit of text, but its worth it.
THe main flaw of the army is your relative numbers; you'll always be outnumbered. This is made up for by their devastating firepower, combat prowess and extreme toughness (2+ save :w00t: ), but that only helps to a certain extent...
"I have died a thousand deaths, and I will die a million more..."
I thought Dark Angels was the next codex coming out...
Anyways Deathwing is extremely difficult to play... you'll always be outnumbered at least 2:1 (even by Greyknights) and a 2+ save only goes so far. I wouldn't recommend Deathwing as your first army... unless you don't care about losing a lot of games at first while you figure out the subtleties of playing Deathwing.
All you can take is Terminators, Dreadnaughts, and Land Raiders. You'll have a ton of assault cannons... but almost no AP2 or AP3 firepower. Marine armies are the bane of Deathwing. Not only because they have a 3+ armor save but also because they can field so many AP2 weapons (plasma gun/lascannon) and Assault Cannons against you that you'll only be getting 4+ cover saves and 5+ invulnerable saves half the time. Anyone who says playing Deathwing isn't hard obviously hasn't been playing against other marine armies built specifically to negate 2+ armor saves
First you have to take a Master of the Deathwing (probably a grand master with a stormbolter, sword of secrets, and termie armor)... Then you'll need troops, ideally you want 5 man terminator squads with 2 assault cannons and a chainfist in each squad... maybe one squad with missile launchers instead of assault cannons... either way it comes out to roughly 300 points a squad (you'll need four or five squads at least). Then you'll probably wanna include a Venerable Dreadnaught with a lascannon and a missile launcher to give you some decent ranged shooting. And if you have the leftover points you might consider a second Dreadnaught or a Land Raider Crusader. You should also equip teleport homers if you intend to teleport some of your terminators. Anyways, that's basically an 1850 point Deathwing army...
In all honestly though... Deathwing is pretty much unplayable at the moment. Their codex is so rediculously outdated. lol. They pay WAY more points for Terminators than they're worth. They have to pay the full price for Terminator Armor for an HQ that already has Terminator Honours built in to his cost (essentially you have to pay for Terminator Honours twice). And Land Raider Crusaders just arn't as cool as they used to be because they can't move 12" and shoot their hurricane bolters anymore.

DA Codex arriving spring 07 so rumour has it.
Deathwing aren't the only option.
You can play with an HQ (or 2) in termie armour, with command squad(s). Then fill your Elite slots with further termie squads.
The two compulsory troop slots can be filled with infiltrating scouts with teleport homers, or, with two small 6-man shooty squads with a plasma gun and a lascannon.
In some respects DW suffer from lack of weapons choice and a total lack of 'fast' fast attack options.
Using the force outlined above you can incoporate more of what the DW lack but still retain that termy heavy bias.
As you rightly say Fear_My_Dice this is how the Imp Fists utilise them- and has been popular with other players/chapters too since the new plastic termies made their appearence.
As for the DW being pretty much unplayable now I'm with Khobai part of the way - but we struggle on...
