On a furious charge +1 str +1 int do powerfist bump up to 9 str and 2 initiative? If not what are their stats for this ability?
A model with a Power Fist and Furious Charge will strike at S9 and I1 on the charge.
Why? It's detailed in the Power Fist Universal Special Rule. Multiply the base strength and then add bonuses; strike at initiative one regardless of all other factors.
Hope that helps.
in effect it's a pretty useless ability to grant to a PF model.
The only usages where the extra +1 S has an effect are:
1.Assaulting vehicles (esp. Dreds). because melta bombs, haywire grenades etc only hit walkers on a 6 in CC, the ability to hit by WS with Str 9 is nothing to be scoffed at.
2.Fighting anything with T7+. In these rare instances (e.g. C'Tan) the extra strength really helps...more so because these monsters usually rip marines apart like butter, so take them down fast! Str9 really helps this way.
excellent points.Originally Posted by chickenpowder
In addition if the power fist model is part of a squad ie a terminator squad, then the Furious Charge ability looks a complete waste of points - until you consider the beneficial effect on the powersword-wielding sarge and any characters with the squad.

Don't take Furious Charge with a Powerfist. Mainly for all the reasons stated above, but also because you're wasting the + 1 I it grants you with. Also, having strength 9 instead of 8 isn't that much of a benefit.
I would agree it's not worth the points, in a terminator squad you could just upgrade a couple to have chainfists which against vehicles (except the monolith  ) are more effective. So nope don't take it.
if you have furious charge get a power weapon. it will benefit from the +1 I and +1 S and make your guy very dangerous.
the powerfist is a great weapon (on vet sergs.) but with furious charge you will loose half it's benefits.
In my 10 man Assualt Squad, with Vet Serg/PF combo and two plasma pistols, I use Furious Assualt. It adds some serious beef to the CC attacks especially when combined with my Jump Pack Chaplain.
As a squad, they took out 2 Wraithlords and an Avatar last Friday, and without the Furious Assualt skill it may have been different. You may look at it as 3 pts wasted on the PF VS but he still gets to wound a T8 on a 3+, on the charge, and can't be singled out in CC.
